Pancreatic cyst and nausea and stomach ache

Hi all,

I have been told that I have a 45mm cyst in the pancreas. I have seen a specialist and they have already done a MRI test. I am waiting to have an endoscopy on the 14th Feb and my next appointment with the specialist will be on the 15th March.

I am finding the waiting very hard and making me quite anxious. I also have constant nausea and dull paint in my stomach with our without food. I am finding difficult to know what to eat as everything seems to make my stomach and left side ache and I feel like I always have food stuck in the mouth of my stomach.

I am not drinking alcohol and having a low fat diet, trying to eat small portions of food 5 or 6 times a day. I am on omeprazole twice a day too and ametryptiline once a day.

Also I find the left side (belly and flank) quite itchy, I don't know if anyone else has experience this.

Has anyone tried replacement meals and do they help with nausea and pain? I wonder if having a liquid meal at least once a day will help with the symptoms.

Any advise will be great

Hi rosa06975, you might ask the Dr. for the prescription drug "Ondansetron 8mg" either the tablet or the quick dissolve. This is what Im on for my nausea at the moment. It really helps alot. I stay away from the fats and all dairy, basically a mild diet thats easy on the tummy and pancreas. They had told me to avoid the diary because it has alot of fat and its hard to digest when you have things like this going on. Hope you feel better soon and that they get the cyst resolved.

Thank you Joanna, I will speak to my GP on Monday. I don't have any dairy at the moment, I eat non diary low fat yogurt as a snack. But even some fruit make havoc with my stomach at the moment.

Yes definitly tell him about your nausea and ask for that med because it was like a miracle prescription for my nausea, it works within minutes it seems like. Yeah, I was the same, I could not touch any fruit that had a high acidity to it but I was able to keep blueberries down and  tolerate that, caused no pain either. I read that the Pancreas loves blueberries so I stocked up on those while I was healing because I could keep very little down but those. Hopeing you get the nausea under control and begin having as much pain free time as possible.
