Pancreatic cysts

in April 2018 i developed a sharp reoccurring pain in my left side. After a private untrasound a mass was found and after being put on a two week pathway by my doctor and after investigation 2 pancreatic cysts were confirmed. They were drained and i was told by my local hospital that they would not refill. To my horror 2 months later the consultant told me that information was incorrect and the MRI showed they had refilled. i have since that time, had a CAT or MRI scan every six months. My next scan is 1st August and once again my 'normal life' is rocked and i am anxious again!I don't know anyone else with pancreatic cysts and would love to hear from anyone who is in the same boat as me.

Hi Audrey,
I just joined this forums and I am happy to share with you and others my situation .
I am 43 years old male , pretty active in that past year , have dropped close to 10Kg over the past 7 months as I found love in 5K runs, during covid . Why did I mention my weight , because while I might be active my BMI is still around 26.5 . Ex-smoker (20 years ago) and I am a social drinker , 3 - 4 units per week max (that is now 0) . My weakness is food !
On the Sept 11th 2020 I was in the hospital doing an ultrasound scan for some stomach acid refluxes and by accident they found what they thought 1 cyst outside my pancreas .
After CT , Blood tests, MRI , MRCP and 2 MDT meetings I have been told that I have 6 pancreatic cysts all over my pancreas! Originally I was told my only option was total pancreatic removal and that carries very high mortality risks. I saw a new specialist last night as the decision has been to have a EUS/FNA first and take it from there.
He gave me some news , such apart of 1 large cyst (4.3cm x 3.5cm) all the others are less concerning and that overall 1 in 300 IPMNs turn cancerous. I might be having in 2 weeks as COVID is not helping
Blood test all came clear
MRCP scans came out "clear" and no worrisome features.
As it has been 9 weeks since the findings I have done a lot of bad research on the matter of cysts and if I can help (badly) please let me know.
I have not been able to meet any other IPMN patients (I hope yours in just a pseudo cyst) apart from one lady in the mayo clinic pancreatic cancer forum in the US (I am in London , UK). I would love to talk with you and maybe help each other and others.
Have you done your scans and spoken to a specialist? Do you have any other symptoms ?
I do hope you are well and safe (no structure on my response lol) and pls ping me anytime if you want to chat.
