Pancreatic problems

Hi there,

I am worried that I have a problem with my pancreas. I have had left side back pain since September of last year. (2020) I have noticed that on the same side in my stomach just above my belly button I have a nagging feeling. It isn't really a sharp painful thing, more like a dull always there situation. One day I went to the Emergency Dept. because I felt so awful. They ran a bunch of tests, (CBC, Xray, CT scan, Assay Lipse test, Urinary Analysis) everything came back normal other than a tiny fat containing umbilical hernia was noted. I am not even sure what that is, but I googled it, and it isn't suppose to cause any pain. I have been to PT for my back as well as tried massage therapy and chiropractor. Nothing seems to help it. It is not debilitating but it is very frustrating. I have also started to have pretty bad heartburn the last week. Has anyone had anything similar?

    Hi,

I'm sorry you are feeling sick. I had a persistent pain that tuned out to be a "mild" case of pancreatitis. Do you feel more pain after eating? It turns out I'm in pain if I eat anything with fat (and I am not talking about fried chicken or cheesecake). Have you modified your diet? Do you drink any alcohol? Do you know your triglyceride levels? You could start by ruling out "the usual suspects". I hope you get well soon!
