Pancreatis pain with movement

hello

I had acute pancreatitis about 3 weeks ago . My lipase and amylase were about 3 times the limit . I fasted for four days and retested and the levels were at the lower end of the range . Did a CT of ab and showed no masses or signs of secondary pancreatitis . 2 weeks later im having the same pains again which were upper abdominal and terrible back pain both are where the breastbone meets striaght thru to the back. In retrospect ive had this issue for a couple years off and on and was always diagnosed with GERd or Gastritis in which now i think was wrong. It only hurts bad while at work i have a very physical job . My question is wouldnt the CT show if it was chronic ? And I'm wondering if the nerves around these organs (stomach and pancreas ) are aggrevated ?

    Hi Thomas,

I was suspected of acute pancreatitis on March 5th and I was not having any pain during admission, the lipase levels were at 490 and again checked the same day 465. The doctors did Ultrasound the next day morning and it was normal. Third day Morning a Specialist doctor came and pressed my stomach and asked me If I have pain and I said no. He ruled out pancreatitis and asked me to do the test in an outside lab which came to normal. After this, I tested lipase 3 times a month and they were all normal. But I have had similar pains like you where the rib meets in the sternum area persistent for the last 4 weeks now. Planning to meet the gastric doctor in the coming week. How are you now???

I still dont have a clear diagnosis yet . I have no pain when palpating the stomach area. Blood work is normal. GP thinks its more related to rib and spine injury whereas the GI specialist thinks its oancreatic in nature because of the nature of my bowel movements and my causes which were long term alchohol and diabetes .. The pain and discomfort is so erratic i can't find what triggers it . I had drinks on vacation and didnt terribly healthy and i was fine . Then two weeks later it comes back . GI doctor is a pancreatic specialsy he mentioned soemthjng called minimal change chronic pancreatits which isnt good . I also have small bumps all over torso and body under the skin that are painful at times but yet all my bloodwork is normal , Its all just frusterating because whether i eat well or not the discomfort comes back

Hi Thomas, Hope things will be alright. My abdomen pains are persistent, sometimes it goes away for two days and comes back again. Need to meet GI again and do CT scans to find the reason.

Blood works normal except for slightly elevated Neutrophil and WBC.
