Pancreatitis?

For the last two months I have been suffering with upper pain under mainly left rib into the middle of my back.  Loose smelly stool.     Couple of attacks had undigrsted food.  Didn’t eat for a day or two and pain eased off.   Had blood test, US, CT amd MRI and say pancreas looks normal.  Been on low fat diet which helps.  As soon as I add any fat the pain comes back with loose smelly stools.  Very gassy.    Lost 7 ponds in 6 weeks.   Thoughts please.   Basically home bound dealing with this.

You need to find a teaching hospital or a very good Dr who specializes in pancreatitis.  I

Pancreatic issues are sometimes hard to diagnosed and go undetected until the pain puts you in the hospital.

I’m sorry you’re having these problems. It doesn’t sound like your pancreas is what’s giving you problems. A ct scan, US and bloodwork should suffice in obtaining a pancrestic didorder. I’m sure they checked your enzymes as well. But, don’t let anyone tell you that your amylase etc. has to be elevated to have pancrestic problems. They don’t and far from it. When or if one’s enzymes spike, they do so hurriedly and seldom stay elevated for long periods of time unless you’re having a severe and acute attack. Mine have never been elevated to where they caught it. I don’t think that your pain would be going on as long as it has. Usually one will have an episode that generally subsided within a week or two. Sometimes needing to be in the unit on IV pain Meds and NPO for a week or so. I’d find a good GI Dr. and have abthough workup.
