The symptoms of acute and chronic can be very similar. You need to have further tests to find out what is causing the pancreatitis. Go back to your GP.

Ask your GP if they can chase the tests up for you, if not refer you to the pancreas unit at the Manchester Royal.

There are specialist pancreas units throughout the country so your GP should able to make arrangements for you to go one of them. If you give your location I should be able to help with the nearest.

University Hospital Southampton have a specialist pancreas disease unit.

Paracetamol can be very effective but don't exceed the max dose.

Talk things through with your GP and try and get a plan of action.
