well they said I have a stone at the entrance of my pancreas, so thought about
inserting a stent to bypass it, my argument is if they can do this , why can they not extract it whith micro surgery

There is no micro surgery for the pancreas. There's an ERCP but they usually do them to place stents or widen ducts, they cannot perform a micro surgery on a pancreas. The pancreas is behind/underneath everything. When I had my surgery they cut me from my breast bone to my c-section. It's either major surgery or ERCP, but as the other comment stated, you chance an attack. I had an attack with the first couple ones, so every time, they admitted me for a week. Stents are usually placed for adequate bile flow though, so I don't know what your doctor is trying to do.

I have 5 large stones in my pancreas plus a blockage in the tube . I've been told not a lot they can do about that .
Specialist said he'd get me into Hospital within 2 to 3 week that was 9 week ago and now with the coronovirus I've no chance.
He said all they can do is sort out the pain and diet he believes my diet is causing the pain ! He also said he might be able to unblock the blockage but no promises!'
I was diagnosed last March I've been messed about for over 12 month .
I feel so let down ! 17 week wait in my federal to the consultant and that was urgent ! He's told me that's he's concerened about me & my pancreas at last stage basically fkd ! I'm scared am I going to die ? Is there anything He can do ... He actually said 3 week in hospital I'll feel like a new women haha I bloody hope So bit god knows when I'll be treated now
obviously this Coronovirus beds have to be prioritized and I salute the staff that are dealing with this !
I work for the nhs I've had half year off work on and off . I'm back in work now I'm on morphine and Orimorphe I've lost 2 stone & nothing No help I feel I've just been left !
can anyone advice me
Yes my pain radiated across my back into my shoulder blade agonizing! I was going to ask the consultant if he could remove my gallbladder then no more stones can come loose adding to the onez that have already nested their!

Okay, one thing try to get on a different medication, Morphine is likely causing you more pain. Eat six small meals rather than three big ones (low fat/carb). Foods are triggers for the pancreas. Everyone will be different with food. Oranges helped me out a ton but I couldn't drink orange juice, it made me sick. Frozen veggies instead of raw, applesauce instead of apples. I keep Ensure (protein shake) in my house all the time. Stones will come regardless. I don't know why they're telling you last stage. Are you diabetic? The pancreas produces insulin and digestive enzymes, are you on enzymes? Maybe they're telling you it's almost to the point where you'll be diabetic or need enzymes. I was in the hospital for three weeks after my pancreas was removed. It takes a long time to recover from.

If it is last stage what exactley does that mean ? I'm ok.on the morphine I've been able to go back to work ... still have bad days but I work regular nights seems to suit me better
I thought I read somewhere , I know i shouldn't, that last stage is ten year mortality I'm afraid and don't wanba scare my daughter who prob already is ! I'm so upset at being left like this,( as i saud I understand not going in now with the virus ) but surly saying he would have me in 2 to 3 week He could have kept his word but No he pist off on holiday .

Did you have a fecal test before they put you on Creon? If you're not diabetic then I think he means last stage before you become diabetic and actually need Creon. You need your pancreas to produce enzymes and insulin but they have substitutions now where you can supplement them, you're not going to die, technology wasn't what it is back in the day.

Thank you for your reply No I didn't have any tests before he told me final stage .
he looked at my EU endoscopy result said 5 large stones in my pancreas which is seriously damages and at the last stage ! saud he couldn't do surgery but felt my pain was coming from my diet and not the stones . he would have me admitted for a about 2 to 3 week to he treated see dietician etc also he may look at unlocking the blockage in my duct but couldn't promise.
He said he would see me on the ward in 2 to three weeks that's was 10 weeks since ! take cream before during and after food and witg snacks ! that was that

"Staging" when it comes to pancreatitis is difficult. Things are either "bad", "hellacious", or "the complications are actively trying to kill me (aka "late stage")".
It is possible that you are in intractable pain but it is not life-threatening yet. It is also possible your doctor is simply not skilled enough to help you, which is my guess. If you can get another surgeon, do.
Complications associated with late stage include maldigestion and oily stools, AND:
"Other complications that may arise include the development of large pseudocysts, bleeding from pseudoaneurysms, splenic vein thrombosis, and fistula formation. Diabetes mellitus may also develop in later stages of the disease, especially if the pancreas has been surgically removed."
https://www.physio-pedia.com/Pancreatitis
I have had all of these except for fistula and diabetes. My condition was not considered emergent or solvable, but surgery was "nice to have".
You will only be able to get a procedure right now if it is life-threatening or you can beg them into helping you. Being in constant pain is not enough to get help.
Hopefully, in another year things will have settled down enough to go back to some semblance of normal. Until then, it's up to you and your ability to persuade OR to get by with pain control.
I'm not trying to be cruel, but it is our current reality. I'm sorry, but please don't stop asking your doctor for help.

I would ask for a second opinion, it doesn't sound like he stated where the stones were located (head or tail of pancreas), nor did he tell you what type of surgery (I'm guessing the whipple). If he didn't check to see if your pancreas is producing enzymes I don't understand why he put you on Creon because there's different amounts depending on how little the pancreas is producing. I understand things are done differently over there but not that different. I would be upset too but I would not stress over "last stage". I know people who have a dead pancreas in them and they're fine. They had a bypass surgery done but I don't remember the details because it was a new surgery at a hospital here in California. If you can tolerate foods and keep calm (stress literally can cause pain), you will be fine. There's many people who live with a damaged pancreas for years upon years and they don't even know it's the pancreas because it's so hard to get a diagnosis.

The consultant I now have is the top in the country and this is why i waited17week ! I don't think his private clinics take that long ... I've not been tested for diabetis although I do my own sugars at work ,I work nhs, I just feel so let down ! empty promise that go nowhere! I will be complaining ..
I have been seeing my doctor for 10 years with gastro problems the 1st 8 year they where treating me for an ulcer ,How ever, when they finally did an endoscopy I had no ulcer ! I do have Barrets Ostrogheus ! I'm disgusted with how I've been treated!

I completely understand. Dealing with pancreatitis is frustrating for all of us. It feels like no doctor understands it, and it winds up causing us so much pain.
I really hope you find some answers soon.

If the stones are not embedded in the pancreas, you should be able to get them removed via ERCP. I forgot to mention on the other thread that an ERCP procedure can cause a pancreatic attack.
