Pancreatitis becoming more frequent, pseudo cyst, and duct structure, liver cirrhosis ,alcoholism

hi,

looking for some support/advice.

My husband has a history or pancreatitis. typically, he gets it maybe once a year. Now he is getting it more frequently and it is harder to get over it.

He also has liver cirrhosis. He stopped drinking alcohol and his liver has been stable for the last 2 years .

just had ERCP scope due to MRi showed a mass near pancreas results are he has a psuedo cyst negative for cancer and a stricture. Gastro Dr is referring to another Gastro to put a stent in.

Not a lot of communication as to why his GI dr did not do the stent during the ERCP and why he is referred to the new GI Dr located 2 hours away from where we live.

i have been reading about the stent and it sounds like it has to be taken out often and not a permanent solution. weve also been waiting over a week for the new GI DR to accept the referral and schedule the appt.

has anyone had a similar situation?
