I had a horrendous panic attack a few weeks ago, which woke me from a sound sleep at 4:00am. It went on for 10-15 minutes. Afterward I lay for a long time totally drained, but still in extreme anxiety. Then came the intrusive horrible thoughts. I have Valium (which I hadn't taken for 11 months) so the medicine finally calmed me down. For me, I find that reading my Bible daily, particularly the Psalms, really helps to block the intrusive thoughts. Since then I am trying to take better physical care of myself. I take Vasotec to calm my heart, and Sertraline to help cope with anxiety and depression. You are NOT alone. So many others are struggling to cope with this disease. I am sending positive prayers and thoughts. God bless you.

since anxiety came into my life i cannot snooze in daytime without waking feeling terrible, i try not to snooze as it always happens as i wake but when you dont sleep well at night its hard.

are you on medication which may cause this?
