Hi there,
I really need some advice or a incite on what could be going on with me. So Sunday I had a massive panic attack that lasted 2 hours and after that I felt completely drained. 2 days later I'm still feeling symptoms of anxiety that's crippling me and in not sure if I should go see a doctor about this. I've never felt this way before and it's scary.

May I ask whether there was a trigger for this attack & what it was? Is the reason for your panic attack gone or do you still have to deal with it in some way? You say you never felt this way before - do you mean this was your first panic attack or just a very intense one?
I am sure it is not unusual to needs some time or days to recover - you say it was extremely draining so give it a bit more time & try to relax.
It sure can't hurt to go & see your doctor - professional advise & having things checked out can't hurt - maybe it helps you calm down better to know what is going on. I am sure in the worst case your doctor can prescribe you something to help you get better.
I hope you start feeling better again soon.

Yes this was my first panic attack ever had, so this is really foreign to me, anxiety isn't much I do have a minor case of it but I've never let it reach to a panic level but it just came to me just recently. Note; I did drink the night before hand and was pretty drunk. Next day I woke up to help my brother move furniture and on the way there I drank half a monster energy and I did eat before drinking it. Stupid i know I should have drank more water. But do you think the Emergy drink might have caused it? And if so, how long does this feeling of anxiety symptoms subside without needing meds. I never used meds for Anxiety cause I'm usually good At controlling it but this made me feel sick...

I see & I am sure it can be pretty scary esp when it lasts hours but I am sure you will get better.
Maybe if you are sensitive to something in the energy drinks (too much caffein? maybe your body was exhausted & needed something healthy or water as you said) - but I am really not sure that was the cause, as I am no professional & have no experience with this myself (don't drink, don't use Energy drinks). If there was no other trigger I would assume it had something to do with the drinking etc - since you don't really have a history of panic attacks, it seems. But again I can't judge that really.
Just try to stay calm & relax - do something that relaxes you, eat healthy & drink enough...if things don't get better go to your doctor, he can tell you what is going on for sure & help you. I guess it depends on many factors how fast that feeling goes away - just try not to focus on it too much & do something that distracts you. If you are usually good at controlling it I am sure you can get in under control again & you know tricks to keep it under control that help you personally. I am the same - not relying on meds either, I rather consiously control what is going on myself. I just thought if nothing helps maybe some prescribtion might help short-term.
If relaxing & distraction doesn't help make sure to see your doctor though.
Let us know how you are doing & I hope you are better again soon.

I forgot to mention I haven't slept good since that day and I know how I feel when I'm not getting regular even on a good day. Possible?

A lot is possible but it is really hard to judge from here. Sure good sleep is important & would help you recover but I would suggest you see a doctor - to help you with the sleep issue, check you to make sure everything else is okay with you & tell you what you could do from a professional stand point. I could imagine you are still anxious from the attack, maybe afraid of it happening again & not really knowing the cause - maybe that keeps you from really calming down again. I am sure it was a scary experience - it seems that you still need to understand it. Talk to your doctor, that is what they are there for.

Hi. This is what I experienced. I suffered terrible anxiety and panic attacks for two days. Even after sleep I woke up the next day and the anxiety crept in.
That afternoon I had another panic attack. The doctor prescribed me diazepam just to get me through the weekend. I only took those for two days then stopped. Worried that I would become addicted. The following two days I managed without the diazepam. On the Wednesday I went to the doctor and he prescribed me citalopram 10mg.
Have you considered this? I also picked up beta blockers today only 10mg to help reduce my anxiety. Which has been heightened the last few days unfortunately. But I'm trying to tell myself it's just the meds balancing themselves out. Because I had few good days before this. Xxx

Two is a long time for a panic attack to last. I can see why you are concerned . I would say for you to see a doctor. Good luck!

Well I've had a lot of lack of sleep, not 1 night have I had a full 8 hours, which I think is anxiety playing on me ( or so I think) the night of the incident I did feel really weird and kept waking up every 2 hours, I know I should be ignoring this but idk I really feel a lot of what I'm dealing with is the fact that I haven't slept right and it's not making me feel right all day. Possible? For 3 nights I struggled to get a full rest and still haven't. Maybe I'm still shocked over my first panic attack idk. I don't how much a doctor will do but maybe tell me to sleep more (?)

Hello Crit, When I had my panic attacks I ran so fast to the doctors or hospital. I needed to know if it was my heart. I'm 49 so the symptoms made even more important. Of they found nothing, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I hope you feel better. Do your research and find out what may help you.
