Panic attack out of no where

Posted , 4 users are following.

So my anxiety has been on the down low for a month or 2 which obviously was great! But tonight after a lovely evening out just for a catch up I came home and out of no where had an attack. I felt like I couldn't breath my heart rate increased. Terror ran through me where I thought I was going to die. I literally felt my heart was gonna just pack up on me where I couldn't breath. Was horrible especially not having one for a while. Now I'm here getting the anxious doubts wondering if it wasn't actually an attack and something more serious sad

Hi Sarah, are you sure it wasnt anything you had eaten?

I only ask this because the same happened to me during a evening meal. It happened a few occasions but only when I had been out for a meal.

My Dr put me on beta blockers. He assumed whatever I was eating didnt agree with me therefore I had a allergic reaction.

It put me off weddings & dining out but I got it under control.

Sounds like more of a panic attack , less like a allergic reaction. My panic attacks are very unprovoked. What do you do for yours ?

Truthfully Ive not had a panic attack /allergic reaction for years.

I stopped taking the blockers after 6 mth and the symptoms just dissapeared. I do worry a little when a buffets involved or an indian. Im very particular what I eat.

Ive not had any problems for years.

When I used to have those attacks I was violently sick to.

Hello Sarah! Poor you!! How are you feeling now? Panic attack s are horrid.Have you got rescue remedy? It's very good & I use it when I feel one coming on.Reflexology too is great.I listen to calming CDs last thing at night.where in the UK do you live? I always have a warm milky drink last thing at night. You will not die from a panic attack.Try & focus on positive thoughts only! Get a piece of paper & write down all negative thoughts then go into garden & burn it!!Hope this helps! Regards Amanda

I had something like that ,it totally freaked me out.I hadnt had an attack for about 1 yr and I was at a big banquet and the speaker mentioned my name so it just hit so hard and fast .I remembered to breathe and think positive,Almost like I wasnt used to it.The thing about this one, though, it didnt keep me rattled .Usually if I got a break and didnt have any for awhile I would get depressed when one surprised me .Now I just accept it ,use a few tools that work and move on.
