you shouldnt worry, sometimes my heart rate is 120-130 just doing dishes because I'm constantly in a state of anxiety. I'm 22 and ive had my heart checked out several times for having a fast heart rate and chest pains and there's nothing wrong with my heart, just anxiety they say. As long as you are able to bring your heart rate back down you should be fine. I once had a major anxiety attack on an airplane and my heart rate skyrocketed to 170-180 and I was absolutely terrified so I know what you are feeling. Your maximum heart rate is 220 minus your age so it was definitely far from your maximum. Hope this helps, I live with a fast heart rate due to anxiety everyday 😕

Do not worry... That's like my brisk walking rate. When I walk to the shops, it's not uncommon for me to see a HR of 120bpm.

I've had anxiety episodes of 170bpm upwards. I even developed health anxiety when I was having chest pains. I've had 6 ECGs, had my blood pressure and blood sugars tested a bunch, had full blood tests for troponin levels (an enzyme that indicates any damage to the heart) and bloods for full blood count; heart disease, diabetes, kidney function, cholesterol etc everything you can imagine... It was a frightening time but ALL came back normal except slightly high cholesterol.

I trust the NHS staff and my GP and believe I am fine now. But, I've used my experience as a wake up call to reduce alcohol consumption, I've quit smoking, reduced high cholesterol foods and now work out 😊 most importantly, I've worked on my mental health - which is much easier when your eating well and exercising.

Don't stress. Get yourself a check up anyways to be sure but 120-130 isn't really that high if youre up and about, moving etc and of course anxiety will elevate your heart rate a little but you should be fine. However, go to your GP for piece of mind.

The key is to not focus on it, the more you focus on it, the more you worry, the more adrenalin is made and the higher your heart rate will go.

Trust me ive been there, mines gone from 70 up to 150 and the highest ive seen it was over 170

Its called inappropriate sinus tachycardia (fast heart rate thats in a normal sinus rhythm) my cardiologist said women often experience this from stress and anxiety. So just cleaning my teeth my heart would race to 120-130

Once i learnt to just get on with my day and not focus on my heart so much it doesnt happen as often and when it does happen i dont panic 😃

Youre welcome, i totally get where you are coming from. The cardiologist reassured me that theres no damage being done, ive had lots of monitors and two heart ultrasounds and my heart is fine 😃
