Hi all,
19F and lifelong sufferer of chronic pure o, GAD and agoraphobia. I have been hospitalised 3 times since the age of 16 for suicidal ideation and most recently for thoughts of hurting my family. I was previously on Luvox 100mg and life was great, I started drinking heaps though so I guess that was counteracting it, and I wound up in hospital again. We then tried mirtazapine, seroquel and Lexapro respectively, to no prevail. It’s been 4 weeks since I was hospitalised and have restarted the Luvox 100mg. Things seemed to be getting slightly better, but then we had to move house and I am having some real troubles with my boyfriend...I’m wondering if this could be the reason for my panic attacks and increase in intrusive thoughts? I feel like I’m losing my mind, I can’t leave the house, see anyone, speak to anyone, I am just in bed all day every day panicking and starting to contemplate suicide for real. My psychiatrist in the hospital actually put me on 150mg Luvox but I went back to 100mg because I felt it to be too much...but today I’m looking for anything to help me and get me through this, so I took the 150mg and now panicking that my panic will get even worse - if that were even possible. My mind has about 7 thoughts at a time and they are all scary, demented and awful. I have read no one with pure O will ever act on these thoughts, please confirm, the paralysing fear is consuming my life.
If you were on Luvox for OCD and panic, how long did it take to see effects? What does it feel like when you finally get some relief? Please help me, I really need some support, I have no one...

Hi Candywarhol
We note from a recent post which you have made to our forum that you may be experiencing thoughts around self-harm. If we have misinterpreted your comments then we apologies for contacting you directly. But if you are having such thoughts then please note that you are not alone in this, and there are people out there that can help.
If you are having these suicidal thoughts then we strongly recommend you speak to someone who may be able to help. The Samaritans offer a safe space where you can talk openly about what you are going through. They can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen.
Their contact details are on our patient information leaflet here: https://patient.info/health/dealing-with-suicidal-thoughts, which also offers lots of other advice on how you can access the help you may need.
If you are having such thoughts then please do reach out to the team at the Samaritans (or the other people detailed in our leaflet) who will understand what you're going through and will be able to help.
Kindest regards
Patient

We cannot really suggest how your medications will work, we are all different, Different Folks, Different Strokes.
You are different that need for acceptance is just one of those things. Good luck on the pathway chosen for you.
Depression, your mood all needs addressing and I understand your fears what you may do
If you are concerned for your Safety, please contact NHS Information on Tel 111 Explain you have been hospitalised on several occasions they will address and consider your needs
When it comes to problems associated with your Life and Depression, try and approach each problem in nibbles this will make a problem easier to sort out. Do the same with all your fears and depression look on each problem in small bites and sort out each bites and sort that, if you get stuck, go address another problem the same way, eventually with taking these small bites your problems will become less and less and hopefully you will move onto a better place with problems sorted and life will be more fulfilling
