Hi there,

Im about 27 weeks pregnant and I’ve been having panic attacks for over a month every day every hour... i was put on 10mgs of cipralex to help me cope which has helped, but has not completely to stopped my attacks. I think im overthinking them . I had a few days were i thought maybe i was having seizures cause i was having the attacks in my sleep. It starts on the left side of my body i get a weird feeling in my head, almost like im falling and then a pain from my neck down to my hip... thats what worries me and i also get dizzy and have a hard time focusing. But i can still continue a conversation while having an attack . Has anyone else experienced a panic attack this way?

Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy. I just had my baby 3 days ago. I suffer from health anxiety and I had it during my pregnancy also. What your experiencing is anxiety the sensations your feeling is from anxiety. I would have panic attacks and felt like I was floating and couldn’t feel my legs everything got bright I thought I was dying!! I’m on venlafaxine but had lowered my dose while I was pregnant which made my anxiety way worse but now I’m back on my full dose and feeling better. Maybe your doctor needs to up your medication some to completely rid the anxiety and panic attacks.

Hello, I had been suffering from panic attacks and anxiety since I was 16 years old (29 years old now).  I took venlafaxine generic for Effexor throughout my whole pregnancy. It’s a anxiety and depression medication. I’ve been taking venlafaxine for years now and that seemed to be the only thing to stop my floaty feeling and come back down to reality. Sorry I don’t have a better answer. Try to think to yourself it’s all in your head it’s just anxiety and pregnancy hormones will definitely make anxiety worse.

Hi, I would definitely say it's all anxiety. And you are absolutely right these panic attacks are different from which others have 'the typical type' but it's exactly the same type I have. And they are horrible, I have tried different anxiety meds before ( but never when pregnant, wasn't diagnosed then) however I'm on 40g of citolopram now and I couldn't live without them. They are the best I think. However not sure if your doc will put you on them whilst pregnant but maybe a lower dosage. Good luck! And good luck with your new addition!
