I'm so SICK AND TIRED of being paranoid. I'm worried about putting the herpes on my lips or my eye. I'm tired of having to worry about the crap period! 😡 It's so annoying.

Right there with you! I have hand sanitizer everywhere. I did anyways before this even happened but now I'm even more OCD. But I agree any itchiness or sore anywhere on my body I freak out but I'm Irish and have freckles and so I see everything on my skin even if it's nothing and a lot if what I'm seeing I've seen hundred times before but now I look at myself analyze it and my mind starts to wander. Don't do it. You just need to distract yourself. Lol

I'm the same way! My hands are raw from washing and hand sanitizer. Every little burning or tingling anywhere on my body, especially my face, I'm convinced is going to break out. I have a sore pain on the top of my actual spine I'm convinced is some tumor, and I got the left leg nerve pain last weekend that went to the bottom of my foot. Every time I see a new sore down there I'm convinced it will go on forever. This is horrifying, and you are not alone.

Do you think the paranoia ever goes away? 😩

I know for me, I will always be paranoid now. I have a 20 yr old daughter who lives with me, and we lay in my bed and watch movies all the time, and I'm scared to touch her. I can't even imagine having any kind of sex again, ever.I'm scared when I shower the virus will run down my legs, infecting my whole lower body. This is god awful. I'm on my first outbreak, 15 days now. Disgusting.

Are your sores healed up yet or atleast close? I was that way when I had my first outbreak. I would shower and then wash the bottles of soap, the handles in the shower. I wouldn't even dry my hand on the hand towel. It was horrible. I kind of got over that. But this spreading it business is 😖 And I feel silly because I'm on meds. But I can't help it.

I feel like it may be nearing the end, I don't have as many sores, and the ones that are left seem to have burst. Just knowing there are open sores make me think that new ones will keep popping up, though. I've been covering them with the raw manuka honey and tea tree oil, but I am still red and raw, I haven't been able to wipe myself for two weeks. How many outbreaks have you had? Are you taking a pill everyday to prevent future outbreaks? How often have they come?

I had one and then my doctor put me on the meds. I'm only about 2 months in I believe. So yeah. I do take them to avoid future ones. I've been told I might not need to because I have hsv-1. Buuuut my body is so sensitive and I REALLY do not want to go through another outbreak..ever. And I know how you feel not being able to wipe yourself. It is the worst feeling in the world. Using the bathroom, showering...I cried atleast once a day.

I hope the meds work. This is awful. Total fatigue, sore and raw all the way down my bottom, nerve pain in leg. They say stress can exasperate, so try and not think about it, take vitamin D, and drink lots of water.

Yeah..hopefully it gets better for the both of us!

The paranoia only consumes you if you allow it to. I have OCD tendencies when it comes to germs, but have managed to cope. Sure, I wash my hands, and with soap, more often than I used to, but not excessively. It's not often that you touch your bare genital area after all! After the first 3-4 months up to 6, to be extra safe, it shouldn't be so much of an issue anyway (autoinoculation at least).

Yes, I have beem talking Valtrex since I went to the doctor a week ago, have a couple more days. I wI'll continue for suppressive therapy, I don't ever want to see this horror again if I can avoid it! They also prescribed Acyclovir ointment, but from what I saw online, the honey and tea tree oil were more effective, and they are natural, which is nice.
