paranoid android

I was on medication for several years and still struggled with the symptoms. Between that and the side effects I endured, I decided it wasn't worth it to me to take medication anymore and I gradually decreased my dosage and eventually stopped taking the medication all together. I have been off meds for about 8 months now. Paranoia has been a big obstacle for me and continues to be, along with a plethora of other things, but I have to keep telling myself that it's all in my head. Knowing that I'm not alone in my "illness" gives me some strength and encouragement, though every day can be quite a struggle. Anyone else struggle with paranoia?

Oh my goodness, yes! I am paranoid about my kids and keeping them healthy and happy mostly, but other things get in there too. I was on Lithium, but that made me so very ill and shaky, I had to come off it and I am now on Depakote. I cope much better on that. Have you spoken to your doctor about how you feel?

I would like to do the same but the risks are too great.  In my country i will be thrown in an institution if I am off meds and I am in a high. I do not do any damage to myself or others it is juat that i have a lot of energy and i walk everywhere. People get concerned and call the police and i get arrested and thrown in lock up at a mental institute. so i would say stay on eds until your doctor or the good Lord tells you to come off.  I am going thru on my meds but i live  pretty normal life. I have epidodes maybe once every four years.  now i know this body so well I cen prepare and know when i am really too high or going low.  I still have lows and highs every month but they are manageabl. I have been told that I am a sring into summer bipolar girl.  In 2009 I had an episode at christmas time which I was totally unprepared for and in hospital i went for two weeks.  I told my pschs that they have the theory but i have the experiences and that they need to listen to me.  they did and we have a really good relationship as patient and doctor we respect each other more and learn from each other.
