Parasite delusion

I Have had like a rash on my stomach and front of my thighs since August 15. i know the exact date it started because i had dental implant surgery.

after i woke up from anesthesia i had a rash all over my body like a sunburn. when the redness went down i had what looked like bug bites all over my legs and stomach.

Went to ER and they diagnosed it as an anesthesia reaction or penicillin allergy or maybe combination of both. Prescribed steroid cream. Used it as directed the rash got worse. Saw my internal Med DR. He said scabies. Even though no body else, including spouse sleeping in same bed has nothing.

So used those meds. Got referred to dermatology since i still have it after 2 months. He did a skin biopsy and said i have inflammation and a parasite delusion.

Thats actually a rare disorder.

these bite looking marks are real. Now they are spreading.

I am not averse to psych treatment. IF This is in my mind then give me psych treatment.

    Seems very strange that it started after the implants. What did your dentist say and has he had any other patients with the same ?

      Have not been back to dental

      yet. have one more month of healing yet to be seen

      again. But one nurse said people do get allergies to titanium.

      so now i do wonder. my first set of implants one of them ailed within a month. then they replaced it but i hit allergic reaction to the denture materials.

      So they surgically took all of them out and did bone grafts. Had to heal for 6 months and then got a new set of another brand and type of implants that they will put permanent non removable prosthetic teeth attaching to these implants.

      I will call my dentist and ask him for sure.

    Joann. Had you been under stress prior to or during the operation, just a thought.

    I read up on your symptoms and stress could be one factor.

    Stress can mentally and physically change us.

    Yes, I was actually because I had just had cancer and surgery to remove tumors. And was waiting on biopsy results. Oddly enough skin cancer. And am due to get another biopsy this month.

    I hesitated to write this out but I thought if anyone might have had a similar experience they could guide me what possible things I did not connect.

    2 very good ideas stress and implant reaction.

    Just came from the ER and they gave me more scabies medicine even though I have put pure10% permethrin insecticide on my skin and left it on.

    so I am contacting the two surgeons dental and oncology first thing this morning.
