Hi everyone I’ve been back on paroxatine now for the past 6wks and slight progress. I’m feeling really anxious, shaky , sick and shaky. It’s really scary. Feeling like I’ve lost myself. Any advice or reassurance please x

Hope that things improve fast for you. Have you tried counselling? Or been referred to a psychiatrist x

Hi Kerry yes I hope so too. I thought with me being on them b4. They wouldn’t take that long to kick back in. Yes I’ve got an appointment to see a councillor this month xx

    Hi Debra,

I'm in the same boat, just restarted the meds and been back on for a week now and having a rough time. I don't remember it being like this the first time around. The only thing I can think to say is hang in there, I know people have already said that but if you're taking them for a second time then you know that they work. You know that once you get past this rather crappy period you're going to start to feel like your old self again. That's the way I look at it anyway, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it might be far away right now but it's there.

    Hang in there.

Thanks for ure reply. Av u gone back on paroxatine then? Wot dose are you on? R u aving any side effects. I can’t remember feeling this bad last time I was on them. But I hope to god that this stops soon so I can feel like myself again. It’s really scary xx

Yes I was on them for a couple of years originally, went 6 months meds free but my anxiety got really bad again so have gone back on. I'm taking 50mg at the moment, for another 3 weeks and then back to the docs to see how things are. I managed to skate through relatively side effect free first time but this time the first few days were horrible. Had a couple of good days but today I've woken up feeling awful, really nauseous and just don't want to get out of bed. Hang in there that's all we can do. The good days will soon outweigh the bad, and it also helps to know I'm not alone in all the.

Omg how can you go straight onto 50mgs that’s quite high x

I can remember starting to see a difference within about 4-6 weeks, but that was just small things. It took me a long time to actually feel myself again but I think that was because I'd left it so long to actually do something about it and admit I needed help, I didn't want to leave the house at my worst.

I started on 50mg last time too so I didn't think anything of it when the doc gave me the prescription, but then last time I escaped relatively side effect free.

Hi do u think this is still quite early for me then to feel any benefits? I’m on 20mgs now but from nxt wk I’ll be taking 30mgs 1 day then 20mgs the nxt day.did u ever feel detached from ure luv1s and feel as though you have lost ureself. That’s how I feel and that’s really scary and makes my anxiety worse x

    Hi Debra

Only been on sertraline for 2 days and already started having the side effects. Is this possible after such a short time.

      Hi Debra

I feel sick, hands shaking, anxious, diarrhoea. hot sensation in my head, dizziness. Could the sertraline be the cause as I was put on 50mg but this is only the second day.

Hi Sean yes it deffenitly sounds like the side effects. Av u got any other medication that can help with the side effects? R u on it for anxiety? Can u sleep ok on it

Well I slept ok last night so hopefully will do tonight. How long does it take for these side effects to go away or do they stay. Was thinking of halving the dose.

didn't get much sleep last night but I was thinking of not taking the sertraline until bedtime and its side effects might not be as bad. did you ever try this.
