I started paroxetine 20mg at 20 weeks into my pregnancy but had no idea it was potentially dangerous. Luckily I had a very healthy little girl. From past experience on coming off this pill, you need to take it really really slowly or it will mess you up, trust me! I'm still suffering 6 months later after weaning off my tablets using the docs advice to cut pills in half. Do not do that!! I am now back on Paroxetine and up to 40mg and still not right. Don't want to scare you, but please be careful!

      Thank you very much, Sophie.

Actually my GP said that antidepressants are safe in pregnancy and he said I could go on taking it. But there is still little risks, so I tryed to stop taking paroxetina.

But if I will feel bad during pregnancy couse of anxaity that will be even worst for baby so I will probably stay on my medicine trying to take as minimum dose as I can.

I am very happy that ur daughter is healthy kid. Did she had any withdrowal effects after she was born?

I've read the risks can be quite high. I know it's safer to take later into a pregnancy compared to taking from the start.

I had to be monitored in hospital for 48 hours as I was on this medication. My labour was quite bad, babys heart rate was dropping, had to have the ventouse cap in the end to get her out and she wasn't breathing. Also she wouldn't feed properly and dropped from 7lbs 14oz to 6lbs 14oz in a couple days.

From what I've read since all this, I honestly believe that all happened because of this pill. I was not told of any side effects or dangers when put on this pill.

I eventually would like another baby but with this medicine I don't think I would risk it. It makes me sad but I think I would wean m srlf off really slowly and be 100% better before trying for another xx

Thats no good nobody informed you about riscs but as you said before your daughter is perfectly healthy now, thats important. My GP said he seen many moms been on paroxetina and they had perfectly healthy kids. And there is moms who didnt take any medications and had big problems.

I took decision, I am ready for my second child with paroxetina, and I will pray God to help me to have healthy second baby so do you. Hugs, xxxxx
