paroxetine

Hi, Anyone out there give me some positive experience on taking paroxetine/sexorat? Have researched some horrendous accounts from fellow patients, which is not encouraging in fact alarming. This is day 19 am on 20mg of a slow miserable journey. P has taken the edge of anxiety/panic attacks but the depression still feels like a weight within - am completely flat just want to stay in bed with self pity. Have noticed on this site plenty of fellow sufferers are on lots of other ads particularly citalopram - but very few on paroxetine/sexorat. Anyone out there with some reassurance? A peaceful Christmas and a speedy successful improvement to all fellow sufferers in the New Year. I'd really like a reply to this thankyou. mq7

    Hi there.

I was on Paroxetine for 6 years.  The positives I felt while on Paroxetine were: happier, I was up to do more risky things, I was up to drink whenever, my confidence was back and energy levels.

    But I must tell you...

After being on it so long, and now being off it cold turkey for 7 days.

I have never felt as ill, dramatic, angry, depressed, sucidial,  anxious, dizzy, restless, sleepless, jealous ever.

    Be careful with this drug.

I feel like a heroin addict.  I need it, want it.... and without it- I am a living breathing mess.

I am in the US and gave been taking 20mg Paxil (Paroxeten HCL) for almost 20 years.

The torture of constant fear, racing heart, anxiety, only bieng able to relax enough to sleep from 1-4AM, and everything else are completely gone. I feel enthusiastic confident, and in general happier.

I may have occasional highs and lows; but am not sure if that is just me or caused by the paroxetine. I don't have any side effects other than a slight reduction in sex drive. Everyone is right about the difficulty of quitting taking paroxetine; withdrawl symptoms are somewhere between extremely uncomfortable and torture. Do not take this medecine unless you plan to take it for a long long time. Also, dont decide to quit taking it because you have felt "normal" and fantastic for a long time...... The Paroxetine is almost definitely what is keeping you feeling normal. It is torture to go through withdrawal, than have the anxiety and fear come back and have to wait 4-6weeks for the paroxetine to take effect again.

    Paroxetine
