Been on paroxetine for two weeks this Tuesday, had sore heads and dry mouth, wouldn't really say I have many side effects anymore, but today I feel a lot more anxious is this normal? I wouldn't say I felt more anxious until today

    Victoria,

Paroxetine can take 6-8 weeks to take full effect, I have now been on it for several months and experienced anxiety in decreasing levels throughout. Stick with it though I have found it a very good medication for depression and anxiety. For the first few weeks try to relax through the anxiety, hard I know but it is doable. Also expect you dose to be put up at intervals. Sorry can't write more now as on the move but if you would like to talk more I am happy to help

Hey, am only on 10mg, my doctor had said about putting it up after two weeks, so am trying my hardest just to stick with it, and maybe see about getting my dose put up, as I said today is the first day I've felt more anxious, since being on these I wouldn't say am that anxious, struggle to leave the house, managed to go to the ice cream van, even though it's right outside my house, I didn't feel as anxious as usual

Victoria, 10mg is only a start dose and things will get so much easier but remember the meds will help with how you have been feeling but you will also need to look at what possible root causes there are

Do you think I should maybe allow the doctor to put my dose up? Wasn't too sure, haven't spoken to anyone on this before, yeah, I've to speak to someone, because they think that could help, the medication is only to calm me down and help me deal with it enough that I can leave the house, because at this moment in time it's been 6 months since I left the house that wasn't for a doctors appointment, get really worked up leaving

Putting the dose up over a period of time is the norm, Paroxetine is the only SSRI med that covers the whole scope of anxiety issues so it is good to be on. It is not uncommon for you to notice your anxiety a bit more but without the "depressive" part. Right now I would advise you to start looking at the online communities for others like yourself, Twitter is very good for this

      Hope this helps
