I had a partial hysterectomy 1 1/2 years ago and started having pain in my lower abdomen, bowel problems, and back pain and on top of all that I have a period still every month and that’s when I start these symptoms. My surgeon says it’s becsuse I’m ovulating. This pain isn’t normal to me and I don’t know if I should just change GYN doc or just tough it out!? Anyone have the same problem??

Never heard of a partial hysterectomy but if you're having periods then you've got at least part of your uterus. What did they remove, and why?

I had a total hysterectomy in my 20s & didn't experience what you're going thru.

Yes partial which they left one of my tubes and ovary. My doctor said because he didn’t want me to go thru menopause but I am already going thru premenopausal anyway sad he tells me to take Motrin but it won’t help and I go thru pain every month around my period time. Which I don’t bleed heavy but I still have a period.

Sandy, by definition in a hysterectomy they remove the uterus, sometimes throwing in the cervix. In lay usage, a "total hysterectomy" is when they take uterus, cervix, tubes and 1 or both ovaries. The medical name is long and the only folks who understand it are medicos & some of us who've had it, so those of us who've had all those organs removed refer to ourselves as having had "total" hysterectomies.

If you can have real periods without having a uterus, that's a new one on me. I would go back to the doc/surgeon who did your surgery & ask to see the pathologist's report because this doesn't make sense.
