Are you using the same surgeon? Why did it fail? I think I would get a 2nd opinion if it were me. I am at 4 months and still having pain, swelling stiffness, and numbness. I went to 3 months PT. I am exercising every day at home. It feels like a tourniquet most of the time. Cannot IMAGINE having to go thru the TKR again. Good Luck

it started to swell badly then went so stiff my surgeon suspected infection so had to have an aspiration done which didnt show infection so basically i have to go through it all again to have full knee in four weeks time x i can hardly walk proper cause its protruding outwards now so it wont straighten so sleeping is a nightmare x

what happened. I am three years partial knee replacement and doing very well. I did all my exercises and icing at the beginning. I have always somewhat taken it easy since I had the surgery as far as not overdoing it with the exercise etc. every once in a while the knee still swells up if I overdo it so then I just back off a little and ice and elecate and then I’m everything is fine. So really curious as to what happened to your knee that you have to now have a total replacement. I did have several people tell me I should’ve just gotten the total from the beginning but quite honestly my recovery was not that bad based on all the things I read on this site I think I did very well. I was back to work at four weeks. So sorry you’re going through all you are are you sure you really need to have the total knee replacement and you don’t just need to maybe back off on some activity ice elevate and rest it for a little bit.
