i am totally confused can anyone help?
i have been on thyroxin for 18 years due to hypothyroidism.
2 months ago i had partial thyroidectomy due to nodules which turned out to be benign thank goodness.
my specialist told me to keep taking my thyroxin and asked for a blood test 2 weeks later. results cane back all was fine. last week his secretary rung me to say stop taking thyroxin.
surely if my bloods were fine it was because i was taking thyroxin???

May I ask why you would have a thyroidevtomy if the nodules were benign

when i had scan and biopsy it came back as suspicious so the specialist said he wouldnt know until he had sent it to pathology. itcame back borderline then and was sent for further tests. this then came back as benign.

I also had a parathyroid removed because of a nodule. The nodule in fact was the whole reason for my calcium level to be very high. Probably the same reason you had problems in the first place. High calcium greatly affected my over all health. That would be my guess as to why your dr. took yo off meds.
Good luck with everything.
