hi - try magnesium glycinate - 400 ml take an hour or so before bed - Also, i try & take a epsom salt bath with lavendar oil before bed - make sure you have clean sleep hygiene (no lights, TV, electronics turned on - room is pitch dark & cool - dont even turn light on to go potty) Dont eat or drink anything before bed unless chamomile or sleepy time tea - i also have a lavendar spray oil that i spray on my pillows - this routine has helped me greatly - hope it does for you too & dont look at anything stimulating right before bed & if you wake up in the middle of the night, dont look at your phone!

Hello, I have the herb passionflower but to be honest I don't use it. I am a chronic insomniac. I have been for years. Menopause makes it worse, which is seriously affecting my health. My husband can sleep for many hours and does not suffer from the issues I have. I am trying not to resent him for it. I have given up caffeine entirely, along with refined carbs, sugar, anything enjoyable it seems. 😦 I do take chamomile flower drops (alcohol free, gluten free) that I got at vitamin shoppe. About 40 to 50 drops in a bit of water and it seems to work. I sleep like the dead. Of course I still wake up feeling like someone ran over me while I slept. That may be a bit do with being me and the terrible choice new mattress that will be going back. Of course my husband sleeps on it just fine. Grrr.

Anyway I haven't tried passionflower in a very long time. I may give it a shot again.

Keljo...I think we’re married to the same man (insert giggle;) Have you ever tried adrenal support. I was feeling exhausted in the morning at waking and now that I’ve been taking adrenal support, its much better. I take one in the morning and one in the afternoon about three, that’s when my pharmacist told me to take them. it is so hard to find a good mattress, and all that memory foam is toxic. We are going to be getting a new mattress this weekend since it’s Columbus Day sales, and I think we’re gonna go with that Avocado brand, it’s organic all natural. we got one from thar Casper and it’s nothing more than a gigantic piece of bologna ...lol there’s so much of that memory foam yuck out there ... every time I see a commercial for it, I think of how it’s all ending up in the land fills, what a horror! Hugs ...xo

I don't. But I take magnesium and turmeric before bed. Turmeric makes me sleepy. On the nights that I wake up and can't get back to sleep for whatever reason-- I put Lavender on my wrists, pillow and also take a valarian root.

Yes... I think many places sell it but I get mine on the home shopping network.

No. I don't recall it ever gave me any problems. In fact, many of their vitamins ppl comment how gentle it is on the tummy.

it's actually in a gel cap which you can open and put it in tea if you would like. It's not a hard pill.

Hi, passion flower works well if your insomnia is related to anxiety, I've used it for that in the past. You could also try melatonine before sleep, which is also related to progesterone levels.

thanks ladies. i don't usually have too much trouble falling asleep. it is just that i wake up around 2-3 o'clock and can't go back to sleep. sometimes i may fall back asleep after 4:30-5:00 and sometimes not at all.

tiny improvement that is worth mentioning. i rubbed some magnesium oil on my lower legs before bed last night. i woke up as usual having a hot flash BUT i was able to fall back asleep after a short time. i felt soooo much better today. i will be heading to bed soon and i am going to try it again. i will let yall know what happens.
