Wondering if anyone here has had to wear a patella brace after TKR? I have to wear it for 3 months and am interested in hearing if it worked. plus what happens when you stopped wearing it if the patella stays or slipped back?

Hi jean what is a patella knee brace plz i had my tkr done 16mths but still got a bit of problem with mine.

Anna. The brace is t try to move my knee cap from the side of my knee. Prior to surgery the knee cap was on the side. it was fixed during the TKR but within weeks had slipped to the side. The brace is quite solid and is almost 50% of the leg. There is a hole at the knee cap and straps that are quite tight to pull the knee cap. The whole brace is quite bulky and hard to fit under jeans...thank goodness for stretchy jeans. when i take the brace off the knee aches. Im still not able to do a leg raise and its 51/2 months since my TkR. I chose the most expensive brace as the person fitting it pushed me in that direction. I now wish id chosen one of the cheaper lighter ones.
