Patella tracking

What are some tips to improve patella tracking? I have a lot of muscle weakness, so I know I need to focus on strengthening. It can be hard to know how much to push, though, because exercise can make my knee very sore. Sometimes, I use taping  which seems to help a lot. But, at what point should I stop using it? Will it impede my muscles ability to strengthen long-term? My muscles in my leg are always so tight. I'm using a foam roller nightly and have recently started going to a massage therapist every three weeks. I also have trouble straightening my leg. Any specific exercises or tips are appreciated!

Check you tube for vmo exercises. Theres one from "10 best knee exercises" that's good. Vmo helps pull your kneecap in and up. Scar tissue holds on and prevents natural glide of kneecap so massage helps break it up. Wriggling side to side, up n down. It hurts to break scar tissue but once done, its done! If stairs cause pain or trying to lift your knee up while standing, this is a clue u have scar/vmo issues. Put ur ankle on a coffee table or chair while sitting and let uour knee just"hang" . This is a passive stretch that allows your leg to get straight. I do it when i get home from work for a whole length of movie. I

    Hope this is helpful smile

This is the muscle I need to work on, when I do a straight leg lift I can fully straighten it, I know it will physically straighten but my quad muscle isn't strong enough. I measured my thighs today and my TKR is and inch smaller in diameter to my good leg so lots of muscle lost there. I do one leg part squat and I lay flat on the floor on my back, put a small ball under my knee and then try and straighten the leg it certainly works that muscle group 😃
