Patrick
thank you for replying - what do you do to try and reduce the symptoms? I'm seeing a surgeon on wednesday so he can go through the options with me but I'm really confused about what to do. I'm eating very sloppy types of food and I daredn't try and eat bread - as much as I really want to! What do you eat to try and keep the symptons to a minimum?

Hope all went well with your meeting with your consultant!
I have managed to get on with things over the years, but I have had and still do have really tough times. I have refused the heller myotomy and nissan fundoplication, and balloon dilatation and even botox. I use nifedipine at times when I am really bad, otherwise eat little amounts and often, loads of liquid with food. I use soya milk alot and vitamine B12, which do help.
Keep in touch and look after yourself.
