I have a sister, AI disease to PBC called PSC, primary sclerosing cholangitis. In both, we deal with a number of extrshepatic conditions. A major one for both of us is called hepatic osteodystophy, metabolic bone disease leading to ostepenia, osteoporosis and avasculat necrosis.

You should have your doctor order a BMD (bone mineral density) test every few years to monitor things. Also, check your vitamin-D levels, which will likely be low due to malabsorption, and add supplements as needed.

I am relatively young, male and active (was anyway), and I am dealing with osteoporosis with avascular nercosis. My bones ache 24/7, not much fun. That’s why you need to work with your doctor to get ahead of this issue.
