PCOS and pregnancy

Hi,

I've recently been diagnoses with PCOS after not having periods for 18 months and the only help I received was being told to lose weight, they didn't even worry about the fact I've not had a period for a year and a half (which worried me when before that I had a period every 28-30 days)

Me and my partner TTC on 17th June (after having a period and my cervix and mucus indicating ovulation) and I took a pregnancy test today (I know it's early but I am so impatient) and it came back negative. But I've been feeling all the symptoms of pregnancy, sickness, headaches, cramping, back pain, areolas darkening, breast tenderness, insomnia (I just can't seem to get comfortable) and I just know something doesn't feel normal as I know my body well.

I just wanted to know what I should do, I worry that if I am pregnant my hormone levels might cause a miscarriage as they only said my testosterone levels were high but didn't tell me how high or if it could cause a difficult pregnancy.

Should I just wait as see if I get a BFP or should I go to the doctors and ask for a blood test.

Thanks. I'm just so unsure about what to do.

Book an emergency appointment with your doctor. They always faf around and throw words about but they don't seem to realise that this is a part of your life. Go and ask for a full explanation, further testing for hormone levels and such. Hope it goes ok!

My GP just refers me to a gyno and said she doesn't know enough to help, after seeing the gyno she decided to refer me to a different gyno as she only works Tuesdays and said my appointment would take 6 months to come through so I don't even know who to go to to ask about it.

Do you think they would give me a blood pregnancy test before my period was due? Because after not having one they obviously won't be regular.

It's just so confusing and so much harder than things are meant to be.

      Thanks.

Definitely see the doctor as an emergency next day appt to arrange a blood test to check your levels, and stress the gynae issues you're having with regards to the appointment. Make a complaint if needs be. I know what you mean, they're taking ages with my tests; I had one done nearly 3 weeks ago now and I'm still waiting for my results.

Thanks, im defiantly going to get an appointment for Wednesday as the doctors not in till then, I feel I need a blood test to confirm if I'm not pregnant because I can't be feeling all these symptoms and not be without there being another reason.

I just feel I get the same answer of you're overweight loose it and we'll help you then, I just want answers and to have a family.

I hope you get your test results soon, mine took ages to come through and the wait seems like forever.

Double check the pregnancy situation again with a home kit; the first may have not worked properly, and you might not be the 3 weeks in from when it can show up on a test. Thankyou, you too!

I know the feeling, I went to see my doctor when me and my partner decided to try and conceive and was basically told the same, you need to lose weight..

I would go and see your Doctor again and like chloe78588 said I would do another pregnancy test first. Wishing you all the best, it's such a horrible feeling when you really think you're pregnant and the test comes back negative sad! Hopefully you more help from your doctor! good luck! x
