Pcos & pregnancy

So, I have been diagnosed with Pcos since 2010. I'm 25 years old and my boyfriend and I after 5 years of being together are going to try for a baby.
I don't have periods , probably had about ; since 2010.
My doctor wanted to put me on the pill a couple of years ago but I declined as I wanted a natural period.... Still nothing . How do I know if and when I am ovulating? These are questions I can't ask my doc as he /she always rushes me out the door. My boyfriend and I have had endless amounts of unprotected sex through the years and never fell pregnant.
I know people say ... Yes you can still fall pregnant if you have Pcos ... Look at Victoria beckham , Kim kardashian etc .... But I'm not a rich celeb , I'm just a normal girl . It's not like we are even trying , we just think if it happens ... Great!
Any help please .

Just wanted to give you my view/advice on things. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18yrs (1999). My periods were very irregular so the Doctor put me on the pill (Dianette) which helped regulate my cycle. I know this is not for everyone but it helped me. They also prescribed Metformin which is something that helpes regulate your blood sugar as you have insulin resitance with PCOS (sorry if you already know this). This is pretty much a wonder drug in my eyes. It helped with my weight and I also started having periods every 5 weeks which is pretty amazing as I thought I was infertile. I came off the pill last year and fell pregnant in the 2nd month.
My advice would be to ask your Doctor to prescribe you Metformin as I know this has helped a lot of women, if you want to conceive now or next year start taking it now as it might take a little while to get used to it. I also make sure I exercise and eat a low GI diet (cut out refined carbs/sugar), and I also drink Spearmint tea which I've heard can help lesson the androgens in your body (the male hormones which we have too much of - 2 cups a day).
The other thing I've invested in is a Clearblue Fertility Monitor. They cost a lot but they really can help with you getting to know your cycle (you can buy them 2nd hand). You basically pee on a stick every morning (for a certain amount of days) and it tells you when you're ovulating and when you're most likely to get pregnant, a couple of my friends have gotten pregnant pretty quickly using this. As there's only a couple of days where you can fall pregnant in your cycle this really is a useful tool.
Hope this helps! Any questions just ask. Good luck x

I was diagnosed with the same, back in maybe 1993?..I went on to Dianette as it helped my hormone levels big time and regulated a cycle. I used to have a constant period with lots of pain and used to be very hairy too!.
Dianette was great but I wasn't releasing any eggs which the gynaecologist had my blood tested for. I wasn't put on metformin, the name I don't recall but it was to make mm ovulate.
I really wanted to be pregnant but nothing happened. I gave up after a year. I stayed on Dianette for another 6 years or more. I came off tth pill in October of 1997 & got pregnant that Christmas! I now have a beautiful 16yr old son.
Try the Dianette first even for 6 months, let the gp refer you to the gynaecology.. The more yyo are constantly thinking of becoming pregnant the more likely it won't happen. Has your partner also had his semen tested? I wish yyo the bbes of luck. I also used to be a strict vegetarian and not drink much alcohol, I used to swim a lot but that was my personal choice. I used to smoke cigarettes back then too!!!. Obviously stopped the second I ffoun out I was pregnant!!.

I've been diagnosed with pcos 9 years ago. I have had regular periods for 5 years. Here is what helped me. No hormone based meats. Vitamins that include multi vitamin, b complex, vitamin d. Absolutely no milk, cheese or processed foods. Buy cod liver oil try seven seas brand it can often be found at an indian or carribbean store for cheap. To boost your system try a vegetarian diet for a month or two. Cut white carbs. No white flour or rice. Go with grains and flaxeed helps as it lowers blood sugars.Exercise is also super important. Use pure apple cider vinegar b4 meals 1 tsp. No sugars use stevia, maple syrup, cinnamon. Try inositol as a supplement. Add calcium and magnesium pills to your diet.
To help boost your uterus look for herbal teas or supplements that include mint, nettle, raspberry leaf. Sometimes there are pregnancy teas that will stimulate a period and ovulation. Finally try as much as possible to get rid of stress in your life.
I hope this helps.
