PCOS symptom help

Hello everyone, I’ve never turned to a forum before but I feel completely helpless. I’m 26 and was diagnosed with pcos 8 years ago. I have noticed in the last 2 years my symptoms have got a lot worse. The hair on my jaw line, neck and chin is really terrible and I’m now tweezing it every day. I’m too embarrassed to go to a salon even. My weight gain is also becoming so hard to manage. I’ve tried joining slimming world and although it did work for a short while I found myself slipping off for just three days and managed to gain a huge 7lb.

How do people manage all of this? Thank you.

    Hi there

i had pocs diagnosed at 14.

its not nice the irregular periods or absent unless the dr put you on contraception to try to regulate them. What if you are trying??

Sometimes the lining of my womb shedded that and blood clots.

the hair is because you have more of testosterone that you should it was on my upper lip my belly and my chin. I waxed it’s the best way as the come back a little less each time. Or I would now invest in a no no...

this illness caused me so many problems and embarrassment

I beg any of you who maybe reading tell the drs you want a baby if you do get all the help  you need and weight maybe a factor weight gain another symptom.

mines a crazy storie over the years since 14 I had about 18 Scans the cysts were ALWAYS THERE.

Then I left my husband made a few life Changes went for another scan  Cysts gone all  gone and the size of my ovaries are normal....... and an egg so many emotions I felt like someone was laughing at me!!

sad really as it is too late now for me.. not for you.

It’s not nice but try to keep yourself calm if you are wanting a baby then get all the help you need. If you don’t then  if your period are irregular heavy maybe the contraceptive pill??

If you have painful periods there a medication called Metfemanic Acid it helped me a lot.

    There’s loads of help now.

if you have pain in your lower tummy both sides on and off that is the Cysts popping it’s a sharp short pain.

get all the info you can

    all the best to you

Thank you for getting back Vicky. It’s good to know so many people go through similar problems.

I feel because I’m not yet trying for a baby, the doctors don’t really want to offer me much information, more or less telling me not to worry about it until I’m trying to conceive.

Is the no no actually effective? I always worry about buying these things but then they being a waste of money? Maybe I’ll take a look at some of the reviews.

      Thank you smile

       Hi there 🙂

My sis has the no no it’s brilliant a lot of money but....... it gets on top of it. It’s cheaper in th3 long run I would have one but I have not much hair now.

as I said I have not got pocs anymore I found out last year, I was completely shocked still shocked.i had it for 26 years I didn’t conceive I would have needed help (IVF) my life style was really bad I lost out missed my chance.

You on the other had you may want babies in the future, it’s best to go to the dr and see what you would need to do.

It’s all very well for the drs to say don’t worry but it natural of course.

Try to get all the info you can! You are young still.

My PCOS got worse in my mid 20s as well... My Obgyn wasnt keeping an eye in ny hormones well enough and well birth control wasn't enough. She referred me to an Endocrinologist. They do very comprehensive blood, urine, and saliva tests to rule out other conditions. Then treated me with Birth Control, Spirinolatone, and Metformin ER. So while your obgyn can sometimes be enough, sometimes you need a specialist. Add raw veggies, fruit, whole grains, protien. Dont drink soda or sugar drinks. Also avoid fast food sad That made my hair growth, cramps, everything worse. This condition can be hard sometimes I know sad PCOS makes me sooooo moody and I cry easy, anxiety, etc. You're not alone girl! Hang in there <3
