PD starter questions

Hi

Found this site via Google. I have had a read of several discussions and am impressed with the group on here.

This week I have had a catheter installed, and will likely start Peritoneal Dialysis in a few weeks.

I am feeling a little sorry for myself and my questions are bugging me. Can anyone provide answers to the below (in relation to PD).

  1. The leaflets tell me I need to buy a trolley that will sit by the bed for the machine. Can anyone give me a link to a trolley that works well for them?
  2. Are the machines noisy? Are there options to get quieter ones?
  3. If sleeping in bed, how do you not get twisted in the tubing?
  4. Is it better to get a fully reclining arm chair and sleep in that?

I know that the hospital will be providing PD training - these things just on my mind ....
