PDoc appointment disappointing. . . .

Posted , 6 users are following.

Having no relief on 150mg, doctor suggested going back to 100mg where there was some relief.  The relief felt at 100mg was short lived, but it was something.  The doctor even admitted that it is a crap shoot, although he didn't use that wording.  He feels that dropping down will help with existing anxiety.  I never come out of the appointment feeling better or with new information.  Why you just drop off after feeling better is anyone's guess.

A crap shoot is when you think you've got the answer but you are only guessing.

How long did you say you were on 150 mg again?

150 mg for 3 weeks.  Dr. now wants to go back to 100 gradually.  You know it really doesn't matter, nothing works!  I did feel better on 100 b ut I think it was because Sertraline was fairly new to my system after starting at 50.  I've read that if you feel better too quickly, it will not last.

I didn't feel better very quick and mine don't seem to be working either. I'm on 12 weeks 150, had some really good days after week 7 and now it's been over a week of crap. I don't think I have any fight left. I think you should stay on 150 for a couple more weeks, everyone says you have to go through the bad stuff again every time you increase. I hope you get better soon

Hi Nancy - sorry you're struggling so much - Sert started working for me after a couple of weeks, after 4 weeks we increased it to 100 mg as there was still some residual anxiety  but I felt too sedated, dropped back to 50 mg and it's been working a treat ever since - hope someone can get you sorted out soon

Just had to come of this cold turkey, seriously effecting my mental health, very anxious to the point of crisis, was on for a month, everyday got worse and worse. Absolute hell! Be very cautious! Will never touch this drug again!
