Pebble stool

Posted , 3 users are following.

So I have been recovering from gastritis for the past few weeks. Now that I can eat somewhat normally, I've been having hard pebble like stool that seems to bind together and I have to manually remove them. I'm having trouble passing gas as well. I have to strain to get it out. I'm not taking any meds besides Mylanta and tums occasionally. I don't follow up with my GI for another week. Anyone experience this issue?

    Hi

I have the same problem. I have tried everything that I was prescribed by the hospital and my doctor. Last week I tried fleet enema not sure if they have them in your local pharmacy but that really helped me pass.

If you are resulting to manually removing it yourself then see if you can get any fleet enemas. It works instantly too. It is suppose to be a colon cleanser but personally I finding I have been taking them every other day just to give me a bowel movement.

Fingers crossed that you can get the medicine near you I have found it really really helped me over this weekend

Thanks Amy57522, yes I've heard of them, and I'll definitely give them a shot. I just want everything internal, to go back to normal. Lol

I have had the same problem for 6 weeks now. I didn't have a bowel movement in 3 weeks naturally still haven't now after several attempts of picolax and moviprep and so many different laxatives I took myself to a chemist and spoken to a pharmacist my doctor seems to have given up on me now and they suggested fleet enema to me on Wednesday evening. The first dose I was expecting more so I took another on Friday and another today. Still bunged up but I managed to go. It does give you stomach cramps so try paracetamol and a hot water bottle too. If that doesn't work go back to your GP or a walk in centre at a hospital they may give you some picolax to take. I have a gastro appointment on Wednesday so if they suggest alternative medication and if that works i can let you know so you could see about getting whatever they give me but fleet enema helped me to remove what I couldn't in my rectum

Good luck and once you have used it go straight to a toilet. The fluid does come back out straight away but shortly after you should be able to pass something 😌
