Peculiar Rash

Husband has a rash covering most of his back - but it's rathr odd. It has the appearance of something like Chickenpox i.e. widely spaced pimples - but there's no itching!

We can't work out whether it's the Glic or the Pred since he was discharged from the Assesment Unit taking both and the rash developed after a couple of weeks then spread. He was told that the Glic could cause a rash after a month or two.

Trouble is that one finds that "a rash" is listed as possible side effect for just about any medication.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this please?

Could be either - you'd need to ask the doctor though. Although it doesn't sound like anything I've heard anyone complain of with pred in the past it COULD be the pred - usually the acne due to pred is around the mouth and chin but it can affect the back and this article describes it as "pimples or zits":

On-line comment about glic rashes seem to suggest it is usually itchy - so I think the pred has to get the blame!

Thanks Eileen - it does seem that the pred could b the cause, going by the info in that article. His mouth and chin area are covered by beard and tache but no zits among the fuzz fortunately!
