hi there. Paul here. I had a turp a week ago but question is how much water should I drink. right now im drinking approximately 6 bottles of water 500 ml. but seems like im urinating quite abit. maybe 10 times or less an hour. I have a suprapubic catheter and I feel tingles in my bladder. maybe over active, hell I dont know, thats why I'm asking. Will it get better. maybe im over anxious. maybe go to hospital but don't really want to go. maybe its in my head. just need some advice and help. thanks

Didn't your doctor give you some instructions as to what to expect post-surgery? If not, call him and ask. I think bladder spasms are normal post-TURP (I had them for a day or two as I recall). If your pee is clear, you can probably cut back on the water but that's just my opinion and I am not a doctor. I had a very good TURP experience and almost 4 years later, I'm still glad I had it done.

yes he did give me some instructions. walking, drinking lots, no heavy lifting. I am still having blood in urine but I know I will have it for abit. getting better after 2.5 weeks, but one thing I am having is still the heat of painful feeling 3 out of 10, around entry of suprapubic catheter. maybe because of an infection I had and bladder spasms, but still taking medicine, but hopefully soon it will subside. has anyone felt this. thanks
