Peeing on your own after turp surgery

im a 61yr old type 2 non-insulin diabetic, that has enlarged prostate. I just had surgery about 10 days ago. 1 week ago, the doctor removed the Foley catheter after they filled my bladder to see if I had a flow. I did. They said I should be able to pee on my own now. I haven't been able to, I try to force it out every time I am about to use a catheter.
Has anyone ever experienced not being able to pee on your own after turp? If so, how long did it take? Did you have to do kegel exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor?

What mark said. I had a little problem from a clot blocking flow. Went to docs he used a Cath to check for scar tissue blockage. There was none but I passed a huge clot and all was good. There's a few things could be the issue. Clot or material block. Swelling from the procedure. Bladder not used to being able to do its job. Needs to relearn how to empty. Scar tissue from surgery.

I ha how did you make your bladder relearn? I have noticed that when cathing I feel it go through the prostate. I just wonder if that's scar tissue. I see my doctor in March.

They can check out inside with a scope. Contractions are checked with a probe during urodynamics test. They put a little probe in your anus. They fill your bladder threw a small Cath. When it's full you pee and they measure flow, volume, bladder contractions

They can look at it with ultrasound but the tests tells them how it's contracting. It's not to bad. Pretty painless. The Cath is very small. You can actually pee around it. That test was the first time I was ever cathed. Like a reg Cath sting a little after they remove it. Really was no big thing tho.
