Pelvic Pain 10 months following radical prostatectomy

I'm 68 years old and had a RP in December 2016. My Gleason had been 3=4, first PSA was undetectable and six month later was .1 I've had pelvic pain throughout whereby it hurts to sit down, especially on hard surfaces. Standing or lying down is fine. I've carried a cushion around with me and this, sometimes helps. I spoke with my surgeon about this and he told me he never heard of such a thing and the second opinion doctor said about the same thing. I've been to a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor problems and he discharged me when the kegels made the pain and wetting worse. Nowadays I use about three pads a week and sitting on a hard surface leads to an episode of wetting. Any ideas where I can go for help with this? Thanks for reading.

    Dear David

I would be surprised if your prostrate cancer was causing you pain, also surprised that it is causing you incontinence but what do I know!

How you tried pelvic floor exercises to help?

    Cheers

Thanks for writing. Yes, I do pelvic floor exercises and, as I said, kegels have made the problem worse.

David, sorry to hear you continue to have issues after your treatment. This does not sound right for your doctors to tell you nothing is wrong when you are having pain. I had Brachytherapy about a year and a half ago. I experience discomfort when sitting for long periods too. It was chalked up possibly inflammation of the urethra. I was advised to cut down on caffeine and drink plenty of water. I guess that all helped. It would flare up now and then. I went to the urologist a few months ago for basically the same thing. Some discomfort sitting. I was finally told that I had a small hemorrhoid. I was prescribed an ointment that helped and it has not bothered me since.
