Penile and Scrotal Retraction From Overactive Cremaster Muscle?

Hi everyone,

I have a query relating to an over active cremaster muscle which I seem to have which has been causing me almost constant retraction of the penis and the scrotum over the last few years.

I’ve seen a variety of doctors and Urologists - one of which suggested that I try lysis of the cremaster muscle which would stop my testicles and scrotum from retracting altogether, and others have suggested simply “living with it”.

I have considered the surgical option, but I wanted to know if this would solve both the scrotal retraction as well as the penile retraction. Both conditions cause quite a lot of discomfort when they happen.

I’m assuming that the same muscle operates the retraction of both the testicles AND the penis? If anyone can clarify if this is the case I would be most grateful.

It is quite an annoying and uncomfortable condition which I’m hoping can be treated in the best way that actually solves the problem, so I thought I’d get a few ideas first before going back to the urologist to ask for the surgery.

Thanks in advance!

Hi did you ever get this resolved? I have the same problem and have been offered cremaster muscle surgery.

    Thanks
