Penis foreskin cracks during sex, peeling skin, dots and spots [documented]

Hi,

First of all thank you for your time and sorry for the long post,

I'm a healthy 29y old male and in the past 8 months I've been having some problems when having sex. Around February I've noticed some cracks on my foreskin image, at the time i didn't thought much of it, and it eventually healed up, after that, every time i had my foreskin would always crack in the same spots with the same pattern, and it started to appear even more cracks imageimage, when they happen during sex, i can clearly feel them and it stings a little, but after the act, i would clean it with lukewarm water and i would only feel an occasional sting or 2, and, along with the cracks, i also feel the area where the cracks are very very raw and sensitive to the touch, the rest of the penis is fine. In the healing process, after 1 or 2 days, my skin would feel very dry, accompanied by some peeling skin where the cracks where imageimageimage, that area of the skin, eventually they would heal up, but the skin in that area looks a bit darker than the rest image, the dryness i would fight it with some moisturizer.

In all this months I've tried some approaches to tackle this without success, i used a cleaning solution with neutral PH and no fragrances, anti candida fungal ointment, topical steroid cream, fusidic acid and also elidel, already went to 2 different dermatologists, and the problem still persists, with a down side, that now, it seems to be getting worse as some dots started to appear on the glad imageimageimageimageimage and also on the foreskin area imageimage. Along with all of the this, the redder area of the skin sometimes when is dryer it also looks shinier. I'm posting here in hope of some advice of someone who has gone through the same thing. Before all of this, i had a normal sex life with no problems whatsoever.

Best regards, Thank you,

Hello, all.I hope all of you are doing fine in the pandemic times.

About 4 days ago, i happen to have got the exact same conditon as seen in the pictures posted by @J0P1315 .Thanks for being generous enough to share the pictures and it seems this is the only place where this condition is being talked/discussed about.

Now, I am a 19 year old from India.I happen to have been masturbating a little too much since the past few weeks, thanks to the lockdown(multiple times a day, dry masturbation only, uncircumcised).I think this is the reason that has bought me here.To top it off, I use a rather strong drying soap on my genitals, so chances are this could've also triggered the process. It started off with one cut and redness 4 days ago, I didn't pay heed and continued to masturbate twice the same day.It resulted in two more cuts.I realised i have been going crazy with masturbation part since the lockdown due to second Covid-19 wave in my country and decided to stop.Regardless, today it seemed like there were no cuts but with redness and the foreskin tip was turning white when wet.So I thought i would roll back the foreskin to avoid phimosis. This is where i screwed up, this resulted in 4 more huge, deep cuts all around the tip of the foreskin.

Not sure if it's infected or something, yet.Upon viewing the stories of other fellow men here, i decided to use an anti-fungal cream(for a couple days, just to be safe) and apply petroleum jelly to prevent the foreskin from drying up.I have also decided to strictly refrain from any masturbation or sexual activity for atleast a month.

I will keep you guys updated, hopefully since it's early it could probably have a chance of healing but you never know.

P.S.- I do not have any medical conditions, whatsoever.

To be very honest, with reference to the attached images, that is how my penis is looking right now. This was not at all how it was looking 2 days ago.It looked very much like @J0P1315 's condition. Weird, how it transformed so fast and i woke up to a nightmare.I strongly believe it's a form of balanitis and chances are it could be infected.I will be starting to apply a mixi cream(Anti-Bacterial+Anti Fungus), from tomorrow.I can roll back my penis's foreskin backwards but, of course it is with a great deal of pain and cuts.

Can anyone here suggest me if I should keep my foreskin as it would sit normally or should i roll it up?

Will update, if I can find any changes with my condition.

I'd bet my eye teeth that this problem is yeast, which is a fungus. Yeast infections are common, but in circumcising countries, doctors don't seem to understand how to recognize or treat yeast. PLEASE don't get circumcised for this, you will absolutely regret it, because you will suffer a significant loss in sensation, due to the fact that the foreskin is actually the primary sensory structure of the penis.

You can start trying to treat with coconut oil, which is both antifungal and antibacterial, but especially if you've been suffering symptoms for awhile, best to get an OTC antifungal cream and literally slather it on the tip, twice or three times per day, and do this until a few days after symptoms clear up. Don't stop using the cream immediately when symptoms disappear, you should really use for several days after to be certain the yeast is managed. Also, diet can significantly affect fungus levels, so ditch the sugary beverages and drink tons of water, also minimize carbs bc they convert to sugars in the body and are HORRIBLE for yeast and other fungi. When you apply the cream, really slather it on the tip and all the way down at least mid-shaft. it should look almost like a light frosting. It's ok if some rubs off in your underwear, you just really want it to completely cover all the affected tissue. Clotrimazole (Lotrimin AF) works the best.

If you were recently on antibiotics, that could be the cause of the yeast overgrowth. Also yeast thrives in warm and moist conditions, so change your underwear if you're sweaty, avoid soap with perfume/fragrance, keep yourself cool and dry,, urinate right away after intercourse and rinse thoroughly as well, and all of that with the antifungal cream, you should see some improvement within 24hrs and it should totally clear up within a week or less.

I'm not a physician, but I do have extensive experience advising parents with intact boys how to treat for yeast infections.

    good luck!!

this ia happening because of dry skin that is caused from a circumsized penis. the glands are dried up and dead usually after 35 years old. you need to constantly be using moisturizer. even then it may occur. vasoline is the best to let it heal because the moisturizer dossnt let it dry to heal fast enough. its not curable. moat doctors aer unaware of new studies on the negative long term affects of circumsicion

    Update:

Sorry, I was supposed to post this 3 days ago.

I am extremely happy to let you guys here, know that my condition has been treated completely.

What did I do? I used a cream called Siloderm Mixi(available in India, check composition online to find similiar creams in your country) along with petroleum jelly for preventing dry skin.It essentially is an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory cream. It worked wonders in my case. The penis is back to absolute normal compared to the terrible state it was just a week ago.

Few precautions even after recovery is to always use LUBE/Vitamin E/ or anything that serves as a lube especially during masturbation or sex. This is the only way to make sure it doesn't return.

Just created an account to reply to this. I was successfully able to treat the problem without any surgery and have continued back to my normal sexually active lifestyle!

About 3 months ago, I was suffering with the SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS as the author of this post. It was an on going issue at that point that was occurring for a good 2 months. I would get cracks or rips in what seemed like a specific "ring" area on my penis. I did tons of research on this subject which led me to this forum.

    Some background on me:

I'm a 25 year old male who is sexually active, uncircumsized, and definitely a grower not a shower. I tend to get active with the wife on average 4 out of 7 days of the week. Sometimes more. I believe the cause of this issue was friction from teeth during oral, not letting myself fully heal, then participating in more oral, which repeated for weeks leading up to this issue.

After suffering with this problem for a couple months, I feared this may have become a chronic condition that id have to live my life with. Or I'd need a circ to resolve. I scoured this forum for answers and found that some people had luck with lotrimin and/or Coconut Oil. I tried both for a couple of weeks, and although it healed the skin, the issue persisted after any type of sexual activity.

    My Fix:

Before seeking medical attention, I gave it 1 last solution. Vaseline. Not just the regular one though. What worked for me was the Vaseline with Cocoa butter. They sell it pretty cheap, and its sold in the regular looking Vaseline container.

It took about 2 weeks to fully heal. I would use it twice a day. 1 time in the morning, and 1 time at night before bed. Just enough to fully cover the affected area. Do not use a ton, as it will leak through your underwear and pants, possibly causing stains. During those 2 weeks, don't engage in any sexual activities, and definitely don't masturbate or its back to step 1. After 2 weeks I was able to engage in sexual activities again (although I took it easy). After each experience, I made sure to re-saturate myself with the Vaseline just to prevent the issue from coming back.

2 months later, I'm living life normally and I'm only using the Vaseline after each sexual encounter. Probably a good idea anyway as it helps keep the skin healthy and hydrated. Ever since i haven't had any signs of tightness or cracking, and consider myself free from this problem. I sincerely hope this helps someone as it has me.

do you know if this was caused by an STD or not ? i have the exact same problem

I have a question that is for my own curiosity. Will the shaft only split during sex? Or when a guy pleasures himself as well? Or for no reason at all?

I have had the same problem as OP to a lesser extent for the past two weeks. I would post a pic to confirm but it is currently not inflamed and wouldn't show well on camera. I do encourage others to post pics so we can be sure it is a similar condition. For example, one post earlier in the thread appears to be covered in white which actually looks more like fungus than dry skin. I am circumcised and have not had sex in a year and a half. I only noticed the condition after masturbating but I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary regarding that, which leads me to be believe that it is not merely irritation. I have just now changed my current body wash with which I switched scents from my previous one roughly a month ago (Dove - Cucumber/Green Tea to an unscented one). For reference, I have not had issue with other Dove products. I also change my towel regularly but have slacked for the past few weeks about cleaning my shower despite being a fairly hygienic person. So I'm gonna get on that too to limit variables. I went a week without masturbating but whenever I so much as get an erection it flares up as others have stated. I did masturbate a few times gently with water based lube but it still irritates a bit afterwards. Normally I either do that or go dry. Durex condoms also didn't help. Will maybe wait it out a bit and report back, or perhaps start using Vasoline. Also, I eat relatively healthy but am probably lacking some nutrients.

On another note, it really bugs me that some have reported doctors putting in such low effort to solve a problem that greatly effects mental health and overall well-being. I have had issues with health care professionals behaving this way in the past. It is especially concerning to read that some of them feel uncomfortable checking out a person's genitals and try to get it over with quickly. I thought these people were supposed to care for our well-being? You're telling me you can't stomach a dick? Well I certainly can. My heart goes out for those of you who have tried recommended ointments only to see your condition worsen, or have been led to believe that your condition is just irritation and that you should "take it easy."

    Hello ,

So when you sleep with someone again and this happens the issue is the girl is not telling you she has a yeast infection. I happened to have one due to antibiotic i was taking. my husband still wanted to have sex and let me tell you for a girl its uncomfortable as well. The next day everything you went through he was having the same thing.

    Recommendation:

    take probiotics

don't wipe the skin which can make irritation worse

Avoid sex for a couple days

    ice bath

Another thing we did to help soothe the cuts was a bath in baking soda (doctor recommended)

Doctor said there was no medication for him.

moisturiser. I had similar or same problem. increasing number of soar cracks appearing on foreskin for months. when at rest this area was at the end of the penis. when skin pulled back, this area was halfway down the foreskin. vertical red cracks. i had previously only been using soaps. 5 days ago i changed routine. now once a toe day using johnson & johnson tip toe baby soap. gently dabbed dry by towel. then using moisturising nivea aloevera body lotion. Result is the redness and soarness has completely gone. i know that you originally mentioned moisturiser. i recommend again trying only using a less invasive gentle baby wash followed by a good quality moisturising lotion.

I've had this same cracked lines and dryness with red rash on glans for two years after having a separate red itchy rash I am 99% sure to have been thrush called ( jock itch in men) as I was running a lot and therefor sweating a lot (causing the jock itch), which then spread from my inner thighs to my glans not sure how this is possible but it did.

This is 100% caused by a fungal infection or at least in my case. Since it has never fully gone away I have to assume that it is re-occurring since it still gets worse over time.

I am still looking for a cure and I have tried everything,

List of things I have tried:

    Canesten 1% w / w cream

    Clotrimazole 1% w / w cream

    Daktarin 2% w / w cream

    Daktacort 2% / 1% w/w ointment

    Elocon ointment 0.1% w / w

unrefined coconut oil - helps with temporary moisture but ultimately makes no difference

no medicines have actually fully worked at all for me I have seen about 5 different doctors none of them seem like they have seen this condition before which is worrying because it's their job ffs and they have only prescribed useless medications that often worsen the problem e.g. steroid creams (thinning of the skin).

I've taken blood test for pretty much everything even HIV because I'm desperate to find an answer and all tests come back negative. Negative for all STDs as well.

I'm perfectly healthy apart from this and it's starting to take a toll on my mental health as it's embarrassing it means I have to think of a life refraining from sexual activity as it makes the condition even worse.

I will update here if I ever find a permanent solution 😕
