Penis shrinkage

I am a 30 years old male. I am facing penis shrinkage form last few months. The erections are not now that harder and longer as it used to be earlier. I don't know what to do. I want to know which specialist should I consult. I would be thankful for the reply....Waiting for the reply...

You could start off by seeing your GP.  It's easy enough to order some blood tests to see if there's an endocrine problem.  If you're taking any medication, that could also be causing a problem.

These links may help, though the second link is written for doctors:

Thank for your reply. I have already went for the serum testosterone test and it is OK...I mean it is normal..Further I am not on any kind of medication...Can it be due to night fall or masturbation...Hope to get reply...

I'm not sure what you mean by "night fall", but masturbation shouldn't be a problem - in fact it would normally help.

If you want to see a specialist, you'd be looking for a urologist.

You're a bit young for any of the ED drugs, but it might be worth trying them.  Is there only a problem when you're with a partner, or also when masturbating?

Thank you for the reply. I have not got married yet. But I felt some sort of shrinkage happening to my penis which was never the case earlier.

Hello I would like to know can it be due to weight problem. I mean belly fat. I get erection, but the erection is not strong enough. Please reply.

Being overweight wouldn't normally cause this problem.  I think you need to see a doctor again though.

      Hello,

I am thankful to you for your reply. What I am observing is that the fore skin of my penis getting contracted or shrinked and making it looking very small and it becomes an awkward situation. I am very much worried about it. Should I see the Urologist or any other specialist.

If you can get an appointment with a urologist, then go ahead.  A GP would probably be fine too though.  They can arrange for the blood tests and refer you to a urologist if they think it's needed.

Thank you for the reply. When this problem started last year, I actually had an appointment with the Urologist and he told me that it is no problem . He also checked my penis. Later after few months, I had an appointment with another Urologist online and he told me that it is no problem and he also saw my Serum Testosterone report which he said shows that it is OK. But I am myself feeling awkward when it gets shrunk, which it never used to get before all this. I am very much worried as I am getting married probably next year. Although I am able to get erection, but it is not that strong as it used to be earlier. That is why I am bit confused which specialist should I see. Hope to get your reply.

If you've already seen a urologist, and he didn't think there was a problem, I'm not sure what else to suggest.  It could be more psychological than physiological - maybe it's caused being worried about getting married??  Either way, I'd try a low dose of one of the ED drugs.  Just knowing you have them available might mean you never need them.

I don't think it is psychological...Because I never felt like this before the problem started. I was never worried about getting married. Do you think it can be due to mastubation. I have never used any ED drugs till now. The only thing which worries me is that its getting shrinked. One thing more which I would like to share with you is that the colour of my penis became a little black after this. Please reply...

Masturbation won't cause anything like that.  In fact it can keep things in good working order.  It's normal for your genitals to get darker around puberty and to be darker than the rest of your body, but if you've already been checked out by a urologist, then it's probably nothing to worry about.

But I am worried. Sometimes it is some little pain also in my penis and testicals. I am confused if I see a urologist again what should I say him so that I am able to convey to him the real issue. Can you please tell me what should I tell him. By the way are these ED drugs effective, how do they help and do they have any side effects...Please reply...

If you see a urologist again, then just tell him what you've told us.

ED drugs increase blood flow, and are very effective for most men with minimal side effects.

I have never been on any kind of drugs. Are these ED drugs without any side effects. I see some decolorization of my penis also looking more brown. Can this be because of the less blood flow to the penis. Please reply.

There are side effects to ED drugs, but they're usually minimal.  It's probably hard to tell if the colour of your penis has really changed or if you might be imagining it, but I suppose it could be due to less blood flow.  It's clearly bothering you, so I'd see a urologist again if I were you.

Thank you for the reply. It looks like that the colour of my penis has become some what brown which was never the case before. Is tadafil one of such drugs used for ED. Are these ED drugs effective. Please reply.

Yes - Tadalafil is Cialis, which is one of the main ED drugs.  You shouldn't take it except on the advice of a doctor though.

Yes, the ED drugs are very effective for most men.  This is from the Viagra website:

VIAGRA may not be right for every man, but it has been shown to help approximately 4 out of 5 men get and keep erections hard enough for sex at doses of 50 mg or 100 mg.*

*Seventy-two percent, 80%, and 85% of the patients on 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg of VIAGRA, respectively, achieved erections hard enough for sex, compared to 50% on placebo.

Also, men taking VIAGRA showed an improvement in their ability to get and keep an erection versus those who took placebo."

Notice the high placebo effect btw, suggesting that psychological factors are sometimes part of the problem.

Thank you for the reply. What I observe sometime is that my penis becomes too small. Does it happen under normal circumstances. I am able to get the erections, but it looks like that I am not able to maintain the erections for long time. Also I observe that the color of the genitals has changed. Please reply.

Sorry, but I don't really understand all of that.  Did you see a doctor again though?  If you didn't, I think you should.

I saw urologist twice. First I had an appointment with the urologist, he actually saw the penis and told me that it looks normal. Second time, I had an online appointment with the other urologist and talked to him on phone and he again told me it is OK. There is no need to worry. He told me you can take Tedafil. But still I feel little confused, why this shrinking is happening. Should I see a Urologist again.

If a urologist already examined your penis and said it looks normal, then it probably is, and I'm not sure that seeing him again or seeing a different urologist would help.  If you're having problems with ED though, then I'd consider trying one of the ED drugs.

Yes he said that it looks normal, but this shrinking of the penis never happened earlier. He suggested me to take Tadafil, but I didn't took it. Does it have any side effects. I have observed that my erections are not that strong as it used to be before the shrinkage and also I observe when I make my penis to ejaculate after the erection, I feel a little back pain. Is it normal thing to happen or not.
