Penis Smell Post Circumcision

Hi all, I’ve recently had a full circumcision due to Phimosis. I’ve never been able to retract my foreskin past the head. I was recommend circumcision and I had the surgery 2 weeks ago. In the few weeks leading up to the circumcision I noticed that my penis began to smell, the way I would describe it as Is a sewage smell, sometimes it could smell smoky. It is a strong smell and it would often arise out of no where and be extremely strong. This completely killed my confidence and my anxiety went through the roof as I knew I smelt but there wasn’t really anything I could do about it except retracting my foreskin as much as I can and clean it. However the smell wasn’t going away and the urologist i spoke to said the bacteria building underneath the foreskin (As I couldn’t retract fully due to phimosis) would be causing the smell.

It eventually came to my surgery day (2 weeks ago) and as I was told I had a full circumcision which all went smoothly. All my foreskin was removed and all the bacteria/gunk was also removed. Since my operation the SMELL STILL HASNT CHANGED. The smell is definitely from my genital area. The sewage smell is still very prominent and the occasional smoky smell is still there. It’s really getting me low and has led to me avoiding social interactions which isn’t normal for me. But if the gunk was removed and there is nothing there as I clean it with warm water and a mild soap every day, then WHAT IS THE SMELL ?? It’s not an infection as I’ve already had that checked out. I’m just very worried it won’t ever get better. Unless the smell is still lingering on the penis head ?? It’s just very confusing and doesn’t make sense, if the bacteria is not there why does it smell !!

Has anyone experienced this and if so please guide me in the right direction because it’s extremely frustrating, I’m hoping it may just slowly get better but considering it hasn’t changed since the circumcision i am concerned.

P.S I know it’s only been 2 weeks and I should give it more time but I was convinced the smell would go instantly after it’s removed during surgery.

Hi guys, just a little update smell still hasnt gone, to add to my frustration the smell has now turned fishy as well. Still cleaning it everyday but no luck. Cant see any bacteria/smegma even when pulling back the tiny pieces of skin left. The only thing i can think of is that the smegma has stained the skin from the years of not being able to pull it back. But that doesnt seem right, ive got a doctors appointment on friday to discuss my problems. So hopefully i just need to trust the process 😃
