I know IBS can be painful and can get worse with stress but that doesn't mean that if you are in a lot of pain you shouldn't get it checked out.
Even though you only consulted a doctor yesterday doesn't mean you cannot ring 111 for advice today.
I always say better safe than sorry, and worrying won't solve anything.
Take care and keep in touch.

Iv rang nhs direct and they said just see how the results come back, it's just driving me mad, I got to ring about Wednesday for the results.

Don't ring your doctor until the afternoon, Monday mornings are hectic and doctors don't have time to look at patients results.
I hope you get some answers from the IBS forum.
Take care and keep in touch.

Hope you are feeling better Carl. It's really GOOD news that your blood tests are normal. I cannot say if IBS or bowel issue would show up in a fbc but it does show if there is infection, anaemia etc., etc. Hopefully your stool result will be back soon and you can take things from there.
My husband has had continual stomach pain and loose stools since he had a nasty tummy bug in May. Despite numerous blood tests, bowel stool screening and a gastroscopy no serious cause has been found. He is on medication for IBS, lansoprazole and painkillers and is excluding various foods from his diet ( on a monthly basis ) to see if his pain improves but so far he has had no luck. His Professor believes that the nerves in his stomach went haywire when he had his tummy bug and that they will eventually settle down, only time will tell.!
Take care and keep in touch.
