Peri & Body Aches

I've read quite a few discussions on this site about joint pain during peri and in menopause having been going through it myself for the last 2 and half years (Including Anxiety, erratic periods, migraines, weight gain to name but a few).

My periods now are very slight, just spotting that's only when I do get a period (I use the Mirena Coil) I have noticed that when I stop spotting my whole body including joints aches more than usual (I say more than usual as there is always some aches all the time) I move like an unfit 80 year old and I am 50 !!. The intense aching generally subsides about 6 days. I take all the relevant supplements

Does anyone else notice this? is this a sign my estrogen has dropped lower?

thanks

I am 52.. for the past 2 years I have aches in both hips that run down both legs. Like you all the time but worse at times I can hardly walk.. I’m not on any Hr. I just wish this pain would go away!! I have severe anxiety because of it

I have the same pain- hips and down each leg. Occasionally up into lower back. It didn’t occur to me until recently that it could be tied to menopause. Trying to stay active, wearing the right shoes and stretching every day helps. I  have a sit/stand desk at work and a physical therapist said to switch every 45 minutes and be sure to walk around every now and then too.

I also get lower back pain on occasion. My work I’m up and down through out the day. I use to be very active and exercise regularly.. but for the last year or so I haven’t been doing much. The pain is so bad a lot of the time I find it hard to exercise!! I need to push myself to stretch and get some exercise in! Thank you for the tips!!

I take a magnesium supplement too. I heard this helps with body aches. My pain has improved, but I wonder if it’s more because warm weather has returned and I’m less of a couch potato!

Hello all. I have also had the hip pain, mostly when I'm sleeping. Thinking it is pressure points. I walk most days, two miles of more with no pain. I drink a lot of water and take vitamin d. I just keep moving though my motivation is low.

I used too love high impact exercise but I suffer so much after, my aches taper off mid morning as long as I am active and not sitting around. I make myself go to Pilates classes and they do help as I am sure it would be a whole lot worse than it is. I am going too see about a supplement from health shop and try that
