Peri - Menopause

I'm 42 and have been feeling pretty rubbish since the end of last year.

I've recently learned that it could well be related to the peri menopause! My symptons include:

Lower back pain, achy feeling, metal taste in mouth, feeling hot, light - headedness, dizzy, emotional and teary..also noticed that my periods are a lot lighter and and all over the place. Recently had 2 periods in a month! This obviously caused me a lot of concern buy my doctor reassured me that it's normal and can happen during peri menopause.

Just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing or has experienced the same symptons.

Thanks

Dora

Hi Dora, it's most likely peri! Ihave been thru peri & Meno now post meno. The symptoms say it all. I had most of these symptoms didn't know about peri @ the time but looking back not a good time.Iput up with it untill ater a good few years when hot sweats & anxiety kicked in, So that's when i went on HRT a life saver! I did ask questions &i do get checked but just quality of life is so good .

It's quite frightening when you don't know what's going on. I didn't realise straightaway, but symptoms seem consistent to that of peri menopause...

My mum was on HRT for a few years until her doctor advised her to come off..

I'm thinking of taking a good supplement such as well woman and hoping it might help.

I did try menopace but made no difference to me. My mum took HRT for 10 years aswell. Yes try a supplement, worth a try ive not taken them as long as my mum, i did have to stop them for a while because of Hysteroscopy & a polyp removal! After 6 wks Anxiety & sweats terrible when results all clear i was put bk on my HRT fine again now. Good luck trying the supplement.

Dear Dora yes I had the same situation for like 3 years in a row and apparently is normal, but is always good to have an ultrasound and look for a different opinion. Unfortunately I didn't do anything and now I am in menopause and I feel really bad mostly of my mind (anxiety confusion overwhelm ). I had bad night and I have to work tomorrow which is maybe I am overwhelmed. Please take care of yourself look for different doctors options take vitamins and prevent now that you can any mayor issues in the future.

Hi I had every single one of those symptoms as well!! Along with feeling sad, crying jags for no reason, fuzzy head.  Sometimes it was just never ending! I talked with my gyno and she suggested me to look into Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy.  I went right home and researched for hours about it. I was able to find a dr in my area (NJ). Well its been 4 weeks since I started the therapy and I am about 80% back to my old self!! I had all my levels check and they were ALL extremely low. Its no wonder I felt like crap all that time...about 2 years. Oh I also sleep through the night!! That never happened in those 2 years. All in all I cant be more happy ! I just hope this all continues!!
