    Hello Kelly,

I so understand what you are feeling. I am 59 and post menopause 11 years. Over the last several months every symptom I have ever experienced gas vamped back up. Anxiety like I have never experienced before. I finally agreed to try Sertraline which I said I would never do, but I was desperate to get my life back, big mistake for me. It made me so much worse. I have recently come off from it. This is such a hard time for so many women. Praying that you can find something to help you soon.

    GOD Bless

    Hi Kelly,

sorry to hear you are going through a rough time with perimenopause, you are in good company and lots of ladies on this forum suffer with anxiety and depression during this time. I myself go on an emotional roller coaster throughout the month! Many ladies are given antidepressants but as the problem stems from a hormonal imbalance ideally the treatment would be to replace the loss of hormones. Have you considered this or discussed it with your doctor? Having said that some ladies do benefit from taking antidepressants as well. Often these types of medications can make you feel worse to begin with before you see the benefit which can be very difficult. Hopefully some ladies who are taking this medication come along and share their experiences. You aren't alone in your feelings and we are here to offer our support,

    Good Evening Kelly,

First of all, I want you to know, you are not alone. Many of us women going through this new chapter feel the same, including myself.

I take each day as it comes. I have changed my diet, I'm eating as little processed food as I can. I was never a big drinker but have now cut all alcohol out. I am drinking only one cup (2 absolute max) of coffee per day and have replaced the rest I used to drink with green, tumeric, dandelion and nettle tea, I drink chamomile tea on an evening to help me drift off to sleep. I've started to drink kombucha too as recommended by my nurse practitioner.

I've also started journaling my symptoms so that I can hopefully see a pattern with my symptoms in line with my cycle.

Do you have the app called "Perry"? If not I'd highly recommend it. It's so comforting and gets more traffic than this site. It's really helped me to see other women are going through the same crazy, weird symptoms that I am.

    xx
