Has anyone else experienced terrible joint pain ? I'm 49 and my periods have become erratic over the pat few months . I'm also having real trouble sleeping ,minimal hot flushes though .

I have for the past few years..it comes and goes. It is mainly at night. I guess it's from all the hormones changing. Your not alone.

Thanks . I have it all the time , painkillers barely touch it . I'm really worried that I have something chronic going on but my gp says its peri related.

Yes but I have arthritis as well so I don't know if its my arthritis progressing or from peri

I have read in numerous places that any existing condition such as arthritis, allergies, etc...peri or menopause will magnify it.

By the way...Peri, menopause...are these two different meanings?

I believe that peri ( I'm not for sure because I've just realized that all the symptoms I've been having for about a year now besides the bleeding are Peri) I think it means are menopause. I'm hoping that menopause means that everything will be finally over including the period

I meant I believe that all the side affects are pretty menopausal and that menopause ends everything once we reach menopause

They are two different meanings. Peri is the phase leading up to menopause. Meno is when you have gone 12 consecutive months without a period.

I thought they called that post menopause...hmmm...I don't know

lyn..............menopuase is when your period actually stops, and when you have had no period for 12 months totally, with no  period bleeds whatsoever, thats when your considered post.

Joint pain/muscle pain, not sure which one I feel but yes. Low back, neck and shoulders. I get deep tissue massages and boy do they feel oh so good! I don't sleep through the night anymore either. Luckily, hot flashes haven't been a problem for me and I hope and pray it stays that way!😌 enough is enough!

yes lots of joint pain which comes and goes - been told to eat loads of smoked salmon/salmon and mackerel.  Basically oily fish/omega 3 which helps.  Mine can be agony particularly at night.  It does go but then comes back again like all the symptoms.  Not fun so yr not alone

Oooh YES! I seems all my old 'war wounds', every sprain, jolt or bashed finger have come back to haunt me!

The terrible thing is, I have come to accept a lot of the pain and restricted movement as 'normal' and that can't be right.sad

I have just (in the last 1/2 hour) taken delivery of some high strength Rosehip tablets. They are supposed to help with joint problems...... I'll let you know!
