perimenopause

hi everyone

                  just seen these forums about the perimenopause thought it was only me sometimes i think im losing my mind ive been irregular on my periods now for nearly 4years stopping starting light and then heavy i can cope with that but it the emotional side of it crying most of the time feeling has if im all alone and everyone is against me i question everything and everybody i do not want to go to the doctors to be given pills but want this feeling of uncertainty to go away and feel normal again

    Hi amanda. How old are you? Have you had perimenopause confirmed? It may be worth visiting your GP to discuss options or even just to talk about how you are feeling. GPS can't force you to take meds etc but sometimes how you feel can develop and help might be required. Do you have family or friends you can talk to?

      i am almost 51 and started these symptoms  when i was 47 if i went to doctors they would only do blood test sometimes your hormone levels fluctuate up and down so they cant confirm your going through this change in your life

      That is quite true amanda but maybe they can help refer you to someone who can advise on some coping strategies.

      I have had CBT and although it can't change the physical symptoms and emotions, it has helped with how I deal with them x

    Bless you Amanda! You're definitely not alone. There's a lot to be said for being female isn't there? Hope you're feeling ok soon x
