Hi Kadia,
Welcome! And sorry you are feeling rough.
I can tell you how things have progressed for me... I hope you find it useful.
I'm 51, having unpredictable periods that are mostly heavy spotting, not real bleeding.
I realized a while back that my first symptoms started in my late 30's... anxiety, unusually bad pms, and had trouble getting pregnant.
In my early 40's the anxiety ramped up, and the depression kicked in. As well as not being able to tolerate alcohol anymore, and not being able to take penicillun-based antibiotics.
Mid-40s brought migraines at ovulation and period time in addition to the rest. Heavier periods. And hot flashes/night sweats, not all the time, but finally clued me in to all this being mainly hormonal.
About 3 years ago my periods got unpredictable, and mostly just spotting. Anxiety was off the charts, and then came the recurring gastritis, muscle and joint aches and crazy fatigue.
Now I gave several neurological symptoms that come and go... brain fog, vertigo, migraines are chronic now, hot and cold flashes, weird nerve sensations... burning skin, flu-like aches, electric shock sensations in my skin, waking with a doomy feeling at 330 am several days a week, feeling like I've got cold water running over part of my body... and can feel.when I should bleed, but I barely just spot now, and it can be as much as 110 days between spotting times.
There are probably some things I have forgotten, as I can't remember anything anymore either, lol.
What are you experiencing so far?
Hugs, and we are here if you need a chat.

It's an unbelievable list, unless you're living it, huh?
Up until about 3 years ago, I was able to put on the happy face and keep going without much complaint.
Not anymore.
I do my best to survive each day, and I remain grateful for the blessings in my life, but sure not thriving at the moment.
Learning to be ok with not being ok.
Keeping you (and all the lovelies here) in my prayers.

Hi Kadia,
You are not too young. It can and does happen. It is important that you have the blood tests due to your age. I assume they are testing FSH and estrogen? If they do come back showing that you are in perimenopause it is usually recommended to replace the hormones to protect the heart and bones. At 30 is would be diagnosed as primary ovarian insufficiency. Hormones do fluctuate which makes it difficult and often unreliable when testing. These tests would need repeating if you get an abnormal result 4-6 weeks later to confirm a diagnosis. If your doctor is being dismissive what is their alternative diagnosis? Don't give up and push until you have the answers you deserve. Keep a diary of your symptoms as this may serve as evidence that it is linked with your cycle. If you have been experiencing any changes in your cycle this should be investigated whether your doctor thinks you are in perimenopause or not as you could have another issue going on which needs addressing. Could you discuss this with your consultant at all? They could be more helpful. Keep us updated and I wish you all the best.

Hi Kadia, you are right, we know our own bodies so definitely be persistent. Just make sure you have your blood test at the right time of your cycle. Not sure how the pill affects this and the results, I would imagine it would be done on the pill free week? Let us know how it all goes.
